attended the anual Fireman's Gal
lopade in Clinton Wednesday
afternoon.
The Warsaw fireman reported
a most enjoyable time and the
event very benificial It began
at 1:45 with the introduction of
guests, followed by various run
ning races of several of the larger
departments Watermelon rolling
was enjoyed after wnich a chicken
suDDer with all the accessaries

Building. Several talks were

Sherwood Brockwell, of Raleigh
and other outstanding State Fire

The George Rollins and Rosa
Powell Circles of the Baptist
Church combined their regular
monthly meeting Monday after
noon when they met in the church
to study the last two chapters of
the mission study book, "Guide to
Community Missions," which was
interestingly taught by Mrs. F J.
Thomas.

of unusual beauty July 24, at 8.00
P M , when Miss Ruth Belle Rhyne
of Bessemer City and St Pauls
became the bride of Zebulon
Archibald McCall of Warsaw and
Lumberton. The vows were spo
ken in the presence of their im
mediate families only, with Rev.
G. W McGeochy, pastor of the
church officiating
The alter was entwined with ivy
and ferns few, with white spruce

side was a white basket of gladi
oli! and a group of candelbrum
holding seven white tapers, form
ing a semi-arch.
The nuptial music was rendered
by Mrs. C G. Carpenter at the
piano, and Mrs. Mary Froneberger
Keeter, soloist Mrs. Keeter sang

Sweetest Story Ever Told," pro
ceeding Lohengrins' wedding
march which was used as a pro
cessional. "My Rosary" was play

daughter of Henry Lester Rhyne
and the late Sarah Catherine
Best Rhyne.
She is a graduate of East Carol
ina Teachers College, and received
the M A degree from Columbia
University New York, with credit
toward the Ph D degree, she has
made an excellent professional
record throughout the States as

Mr. McCall is the older son of
Mrs Mary Catherine McCall and
the late David Archibald McCall.
He g.-aduated in Agriculture at
State College, and read law at the
University of North Carolina. He
took a leading part in all college
activities He was a member of
the Theta Chi social fraternity,
the Alpha Gamma Rho, and Phi
Alpha Delta, legal fraternity.
He is now employed with the
United States Department of
Agriculture, with headquarters at
Warsaw
Immeadiately following the cere
mony, the couple left for West
ern North Carolina and Tennessee.
