To be well fed. 5. To be guided in his personality growth 6. To have good daily care. 7 To be protected against disease. 8. To receive proper treatment for his handicaps or illness. 9. To learn to protect his own health. . The president thanked the asso ciation for their whole-hearted co operation and asked them to con tinue in the work to be done. He stressed the importance of carry ing out the resolutions adopted by the State body - A few are herewith stated: 1. More adequate buildings and equipment for all school chil dren within the State and espec ially for the Negro children who have suffered from present over-, crowded conditions in the class rooms, libraries, laboratories, etc. 2. The establishment throughout the State of more vocational train ing nd shop work facilities to sup plement the present set of ill equip ped shops in the best school com munities and no shops in most other communities'. 3., Establishment of equality of educational opportuni ties for all children throughout the State. 4. That schools through out the State be mobilized into a great program for raising the de plorable' health conditions existing in the State of North Carolina. 5. That great is the responsibility for the equipment, of schools, moral of the teachers and training of our children shall be assumed by the parents and teachers and expressed through the local P. T. A.'s working with principals and teachers the P. T. A. should seek to represent the will of the people to the board of education." 6. That their Congress go on record as strongly urging the appointment of a supervisor of schools in each ad ministrative unit where needed within the State. Mr. Martin is wide awake and interested in the work of the P T. A Both meetings were interesting and helpful. We wish to commend Mrs. M. t.. Turner, Supervisor of Colored schools of Duplin County, for her untiring efforts and accomplish ment in the wfirk with the schools of the county.
