Board Adopts
Milk Standards
The State Board of Agriculture
has adopted minimum( Statewide
standards for the production and
sale of milk in North Carolina.
Slated to become effective on
September 1, the regulations will
serve as a minimum with regard
to the State's milk supply - any
county or municipality which want
more stringent requirements msly
have them.
In addition the board also passed
a regulatibn which will require ven
dors who use milk shake base in
making milk shakes and similar
drinks to post in a conspicuous
place a placard bearing these
words: "We use milk shake base
in the making of milk shakes."
The milk shake regulation also
prohibits the use of any artivicial
coloring in milk shake base, and
requires milk shakes to conta'p
not less than two percent butter?"
