of ivory slipper satn fashioned with
a yoke of marquisette, outlined with
, seed pearls and buttoned in the
-back with miniature satin covered
- buttons. The fuh sleeves ending in
- points over the wrist were also out-'
' lined with seed pearls. The hooped
'- skirt fell in a graceful chapel train
at the back and a satin and net
coronet held the fingertip veil of
e illusion. The bride's bouquet was
of white roses and carnations cen
3 tered with a purple-throated orchid.
Miss Cassie Ruth Herring, of
' Atlanta, Ga., and sister of the
' bride, attended her sister as maid
. r of honor. She was gowned in white
, and carried an arm bouquet of red
roses caught with red satin stream-

The junior bridesmaid was Miss

cation in the Warsaw Schools and
East Carolina Teachers College
Greenville. Prior to her marriage
she was employed by Tennessee
Eastman Corporation in Oak Ridge

schools of New Orleans after which
he was a member of the Fourth
Division in the United States Ma
rine Corps, serving four years with,
two, in the Pacific Theatre
For traveling the bride wore a
tailored brown tweed suit with
brcwn accessories and her orchid
from the bridal bouquet.
Following their honeymoon Mr.
and Mrs. Sansone will make their
home in Hollywood, Calif., where
Mr. Sanson holds a responsible po
sition with a railroad company.

entertained with a buffet supper
at their home for the wedding party

On Saturday evening, following
the rehearsal of the wedding, Mrs.
W. E. Taylor entertained the wed
ding party and out of town guests
at a cake cutting at her home on
College Street.
. Throughout the lower floor of
the Taylor home were lovely and
artistic bridal . arrangements of
white chrysanthemums and fern.
In the dining room the table was
overlaid with an exquisite lace
cloth and graced with tiered wed
ding cake and burning tapers in
crystal holders.
After the bride and groom had
cut the first slice of cake, Mrs.
Bill Taylor of Durham, completed
the cutting and was assisted in ser
ving by Mesdames J. F. Strickland
and Daulton West. Mi's. J. W. Quinn
served moulded bridal ices and
Mrs. Robert L. West poured punch
from the punch bowl surrounded
by ivy.

Mr. and Mrs. Broadus Smith, who
left this week to make their home
In Southern Pines, were honor
guests on Wednesday evening at
7:30 when Mrs. Smith's bridge club
jointly entertained in their honor
in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bill
Sheffield, which was most attract
ively decorated with chrysanthe
mums, fall flowers arranged-in Hal
loween pumpkins, and candles.
Guests were' served a tempting
j chicken salad- course with sand
wiches, coffee and pie, after which
bridge and rummy were enjoyed
with high score award in bridge
going to Dr.' W. H. Freeman and
rummy high to Bill Sheffield. Mr.
and Mrs. Smith were presented a
gift of silver.

Mrs George West of West Sid
ing, returned home Friday from
James Walker Hospital in Wilming
ton where she had been a patient
with a broken leg for three and a
half months. She was accompanied
home by her son, Henry West.
