He had been in declining health for many years. Services were conducted by the Rev. R. L. Crossno, pastor of the Warsaw Methodist Church where he was a member for a num ber of years. Interment was in Pinecrest Cemetery. '":.:"'' Mr. Raiford was born on Decem ber 15, 1873, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Raiford of Wayne County. He farmed near Warsaw for many years, moving from Dup lin County to Kinston. He lived there for a number of years, oper ating a store with thlfr late W. H. Davenport In Deep Ron during a part of that time. He left Kinston about 10 years agdTind had been living In Michigan for some time. Surviving are two sons, W. Rob ert Raiford, Kinston, an employee of the Kinston Post Office, and Ralph P. Ralford of Dowagiac, Mich.; a brother, John Ralford of near Seyen Springs; a sister, Mrs, Oscar Tew of near Goldsboro; ane granddaughter and two grandsons; and a number of nieces, nephews and' cousins.
