Met The Care of Floors" was the de monstration given by Mrs. Alta Kornegay when the Penny Branch Home Demonstration Club met last Wednesday aftrrnon at the clubhouse. The meeting opened wi'h a song and was followed by the devotio nal, given by the president, Mrs. E. C. Way. During the busirt"ss period which followed a discussion concerning a chicken salad supper to be given by the club in August was discus Mrs' "KTornegay In Ker demon stration in speaking of everyday cleaning of floors said to be care ful that brooms and mops were thick one in order to get the best results. In speaking of the care of broms, she stated that one should hang a broom or stand it rather than standing it on the brush end Mrs. Kornegay showed many use' fnl floor cleaning equipment and said that it was always wise to pay a little more and get the better grade of equipment. 'We should never use the soap and water me thod on wood floor" says Mrs. Kornegay' but for best rfsults, use white gas and fine steel wool to remove all old wax'. Mrs. David Sutton, hostess to the club, served a sandwich course and punch at the conclusion of the meeting. Mrs. George Bennett, Jr. Honored At Party Mrs. George Bennett Mrs. George Bennett, Jr., necent bride, was honored at a coke party by Mrs W. M. Buck at her home here last Friday morning at 10.30. The home was beautifully deco rated with arrangements of roses. Mrs. Buck greeted guests and in troduced them to Mrs. Bennett. Guests were served in the dining room of the home where the ser ving table was covered with a white linen cloth, edged with lace and centered with a silver com pote, holding pink roses. Tre att ractive serving was complimented with silver serving pieces. Party sandwiches, nutty fingers, brownies and Iced cokes were ser ved by the hostess who was assis ted by Mesdames E. P. Ewers, J. Entertains Niece, Mary Jones Mrs. E. P. Ewers entertained her niece Mary Jones who has been visiting her for the past month, with an outdoor supper on the lawn of the Ewers home.
