Mr. and Mrs. Rollen Thigpen re cently moved back here from Delco in Columbus County. She asked for prayers of her friends and wished to be active in the church affairs again. She and family visited-a sis ter of Mr. Thigpen s at camenne Lake, Mr. and -Mrs. Andrews Sour ry and family for Sunday dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Preston Albertson and family, Mrs. Laura Brook and son Raeford visited with a brother, Mr. Levy J. Savage Sunday who is a patient at Rock Fish Valley Hos pital with Heart, Ashma and Bron chial trouble. Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Sanderson made a trip to Mars' Hill Saturday to take Mr. S. L. Carter who expects to spend a short while at Mars Hill ! with friends and relatives. and Business. The Rev. I spent last week end in Lumber ton. An hour or., so before, some one had struck and killed their pet bull dog. Rusty. Steve and a pal and 'Rusty were near the home play ing. Suddenly a car struck the dog. Steve picked up the dog, ran home quickly, ranjr the door bell, his mo ther opened it and saw SWve cry ii wtn dog in his arms... "Mother please take Rusty to the Vet. he is hurt." The mother knew the dog was dead. What a pity the driver could not have witnessed this scene How much easier for Steve and all the family. . to have had smypathy from even a careless driver, even if it had been un-avoidable. While in Lumberton last week end, Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Shaw had gone over to Flora McDonald Col lege and my granddaughter, Miss Annette Gatlin of Jax. Fla. who is a graduating student there, May, 29th. was there. We all had a nice time together, and Annette and my self will spend her Spring holidays with her parents, Mr .and Mrs. A. F. Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Maready and son Linwood spent last week end in Arlingotn, Va. visiting their dau ghter, Janice Maready, while there they visited the Capitol, saw and watched the changing of the Gu ards at Arlington National Ceme tery, Smithsonian Institute.
