Our Gifts of Love," stressing, "Wit
nessing where we are." Mrs. Amos

luring the opening days of the
Mammoth- trade ;evcnt, where they
will join a corps of 50 other beau
tics, participants in the recent Miss
North Carolina Pageant, who will
represent' the Statp and their honw
communities as official Trade Fair
hostesses.
Costumed in identical outfits - ,i
dark brown Fall cotton frock with
beige beret and gloves - the official
hostesses will serve for two days
each, with a group of ten girls on
duty each day of the Fair. A floral
identification badge will complete
the outfit of each girl, so that she
may . be easily recognized by visi
tors from abroad.
The appearance of Miss North
Carolina, as well as participation
of the 50 local beauty queens as iios
tesses, is sponsored by the North
Carolina Jaycees. Housing and cha
peronage at the time of the Trade
Fair-is being' arranged by the Char
lotte Jaycees.

Women Hold Meet
"The Path of the Future" was the
topic of the General Meeting when
the Women of Grove Presbyterian.
Church, met in the Sunday School
building on Monday ni.uht of thU

based on the Study Book, having
been revued by the Presbyterian
Women during the past tiiree mon
ths. The name of the book was.
"Tomorrow's Church in Tomorrow's
World" by Dr. Thompson, immedi

Assembly. Mrs. N. B. Honey had
charge of the program assisted by
Mesdames .1. B. Wallace. Leo Jack
son, Daniel Floyd and Martha Sir.

ed by Mrs. Mattie Sadler, after whi

presided over the business session
and made the closing prayer. Twel

Vows were spoken before an impro
vised altar in the living room of the
home. Candelabra, with burning
white tapers, were flanked with
standing baskets of Mums and Gla
dioli. The three-branched candela
bra were twined with sprays of
fens.
The bride wr.s dresses in a white
dress with, fitted uonice and lace
overskirt, and wore an orchid cor-

The bride's mother was dressed
in an acqua sheath jacket dress,
with matching accessories. The
groom's mother wore a jacket dress
of .cinnamon shade.

Stephen Wayne McGuire, eight
clay old son of Mr. and Mrs, John
McGuire of Cherry Point died Sun
day night in the Naval Hospital at
Camp LcJeune.
Graveside funeral services were
conducted Tuesday morning at
11:00 O'clock in Devotional Gar
dens near Warsaw by Rev. L. T.
Wilson, pastor of the Warsaw Meth
odist Church.
In addition to his parents he is
survived by three sisters Patricia
Ann, Carolyn Sue and Yvonne, one
brother Franklin Keith Mcfjurie all
of the home. His Paternal grand
parents. Mr. and Mrs. John Mc-

Jack David Wells 40 of Wallace
died Thursday night in the Veter
ans Hospital at Durham.
Funeral services were conducted
Saturday afternoon at 3:00 O'ciock
at the Wallace Presbyterian Chur
ch by" Rev. James Atwood, pastor.
Burial was in Rock fish Cemetery
with Masonic rites.
