JOHNSON. OUTBOARD MOTORS
RETIRED . . . William Conrad,
who retired some time ago as Sec
retary of the Reynolds Tobacco
Company, has been a patient in the
Bowman Gray Hospital in Winston
Salem since before Thanksgiving.
He is recovering nicely and may bj
home by the time this is printed.
William probably holds some kind
of distinction due to the fact that
he is Chairman of the Board ol
Trustees of both Wake Forest Col
lege and Appalachian State College.
Last summer William was on a
trip to the beach with his brother
Jim and Robert. They stopped at
a restaurant for lunch. When th-.-
waitress brought the check, Wil
liam told, her to give it to Jim. Jim
took the check and remarked, Tha!
is what I pet for traveling with
somebody who is out of a job."
