Q-, Jr, 'and Mrs. -Hugh Sanderson spent Thursday in KInston, ' Mrs. Alvin Powell .Sherry Bazaar Success The annual Bazaar -and . supper sponsored by the ladies' of the Home Demonstration Club was held at the Community Building, Thurs day night, Nov. 30. Bazaar items went on sale at 5 o'clock with sup per being served at 6. Table was decorated with a miniature tree and candles. There were holly wreaths- in the windows and large Christmas tree set up near the front door. The tree was trim med completely with home made ornaments. There were no lights on the tree but two flood lights made it .really beautiful. " A nice selecion of gifts were practically all sold before the evening was oyer. Cotillion Club The Cotillion Club met Satur day night at Rockfish Country Club where an evening of danc ing to band music was enjoyed. Christmas decorations were used. The table was covered with a Christmas cloth arid1 centered with a miniature tree! Refreshments cf punch, potato and centered with dip and Christmas . candies were served. Sightseeing Tour .Mrs. Stroud, teacher of the fi fth, and sixth combination grade, took a group of students on a sight-seeing trip to Wilmington on Thursday. Civic Club The Civic Club met on Tues day night with Mrs. J. P. Smith. The president,, Mrs. C. L. Quinn was in charge of the meeting. A report was given on the work done by the . tlub ' during the month of November which in cluded making favors to be placed on patients trays in the hospital on Veterans Day and Thanksgivi tap Day. . - The Christmas party will be held at the home of Mrs. Alvin t-uwea on, December 17 at se ven o'clock with a covered dish supper, i At this time Christmas boxes will be fixed for needy fa milies. , : . -, ' ....
