Stmday at her home after suf fering a heart attack. A native of Davie County, •he was a daughter of the lata George L. and Essie Sni der Frye. She was a mem ber of Trinity Methodist Church of Lexington. Survivors include her hus band, Raymond Livengood of the home, three brothers, Ed gar of Route 3, Mocksville, Harold and Emery Frye of Mocksville; five sisters, Mrs. Charlie Wrenn of Lexington, Mrs. Steve Feezor of Badin, Mrs. Beuford Owen of High Point, Mrs. Boone Foster cf Route 4, Mocksville and Mrs. Richard Baier of New Bruns wick, N. J. Funeral services were con ducted at 3:30 P. M. Tues day at Trinity Methodist Church by the Rev. W. H. Benfield. Burial was in For est Hill Memorial Park. Congregational Meeting And Supper Held On Sunday evening at 6 P. M. about 40 members of the Church of the Gocd Shepherd enjoyed a covered dish supper in the Parish Hall. Following the meal, the ad ults assembled in the church for a congregational meeting to elect officers for office on January 1, 1966. Patrolman Beane said the ac cident occured at 9:45 p.m. on Highway 158 about a mile east of Mocksville. He said that Novacco was driving a 1959 Ford Thunder bird east cn the highway and as it crested a hill, he saw car stopped in the highway. He applied brakes and his car skidded to the left side of the highway where it was broadsided by the oncoming 1960 Chevrolet Black vehicle. Both cars were demolished. The Blacks were en route to Black Mountain. • No charges were filed pend ing further investigation. MVIE LOSES Continued from page 1 line. Earl Shoaf carried over for the score and Ward converted to make the score 14-13. Davie again fumbled in the fourth quarter and Ashe boro marched to score on the strong arm of Moody's passes. Asheboro scored again and the score read 27-13 with 2 min utes to play. Asheboro kick ed off to Davie and Donald Beck took the ball on the 10 yard line and behind perfect blocking he set sail for the goal 90 yards away. He scor ed without being touched. Da vie tried an on-side kick which failed and then Ashe boro scored their final goal as the game ended. The Re bels had a gcod season and provided many a thrill for their fans this year. We are proud of these boys and in defeat we will still consider them a winner and CHAMPS. HD Club The Cooleemee Home Dem onstration Club held their re gular monthly meeting on Fri day night of Mrs. Buddy Al exander. After the business session, Mrs. Octavia West, Home Agent, gave a program with slides showing the prop er clc thing. Eight members were present, one visitor, Mrs George Miller, and one new member. Mrs. James Trexler, who brought some of the Flemish flowers she had made since the last meeting. At the close of the pro gram, delicious refreshments were served. The next meet ing will be a Christmas par ty at the home of Mrs. James Alexander which will be a covered dish supper to begin at 6:30 after which gifts will be exchanged. The Heme Demonstration Club has agreed to help the Methodist Guild to sell Christ mas candles. Prices are SI.OO and $2.00. You may see any member of these two groups if you wish to purchase can dles. SOLDIER IS PROMOTED . . William Baxter Williams, son of Willie and Brownie Willi ams of Mocksville, Route 4, has been promoted to the grade of sergeant-first-class in the U. S. Army. SFC Williams is currently stationed in South Vietnam with the U. S. First Calvary (Airmobile) Divis ion and has been in this area for three months since his prior assignment at Fort Benning, Ga. His wife and three children are residing at Cooleemee, N. C. McNamara to defer deactivation of 751 Army Reserve units until Con gress can act on the dispute in the next session. This re vived the long disagreement between Congress and the Secretary over the Reserves. Senior Citizens By Reporter The Senior Citizens Club met on Mcnday morning, No vember 22, with 80 members and 4 visitors present. The meeting opened with a hymn, followed with the devotions given by the chaplain, J. F. Jarvis reading the 84th Psalm, and bringing a Thanksgiving message. In the business peri od, final plans were made for the Christmas dinner to be served at the next regular meeting, December 13th, in the Fellowship Hall of the First Baptist Church. The pro gram will be given in the school auditorium at 10:00 A. M. by the Junirr Chorus un der the direction of Miss Ma riola Crawford. A humorous program was then presented when M. H Hoyle, J. G. Crawford, Sam Myers, Grady Spry, Mrs. C. L. Isley and Mrs. Beulah Spry, were called upon to express what "the other fellow" had to be thankful for. Next, Mrs. Fred Murphy rendered a solo "There's a Big Fat Turkey down cn Grandpa's Farm" accompani ed by the Rythm Band com posed of Mrs. M. H. Riden hour, harpist, Mrs. Granvil'e Spry, Pie Pan, Noah Grimes, horn, Mrs. Alice Hcyle, Tri angle, Henry Daniel, violin, Fred Pierce and Mrs. Mar garet Seders, tambourines. A number of poems and readings on Thanksgiving were given by some of the members and a viclin solo by Henry Dan iels. We were delighted to have three former residents of Cooleemee visiting with us, Mrs. Maude Graham Bost, Card of Thanks We wish to take this oppor tunity to express our appre ciation to all our friends, neighbors, and all the church es and organizations of Cool eemee who were so kind to us during our sorrow, in the loss of our wife and mother, and in our need, when our house burned.
