Cooieemee Journal, Wednesday, July 2,1M8 2 Letter To The Editor Dear Miss Benson: I feel impelled to offer a comment upon the pictures appearing in the Cooieemee Journal, and one picture in particular. You must have some expert photographers within your staff, who know how, not only how to take pictures, but have some deep understandings of their spiritual significance. The one in particular to which I refer, is the little boy fishing in a placid stream, sitting in the cool of overhanging branches, flanked by wild flowers. Here, in the boy and his surroundings is the America of which our forefathers dreamed and laid the foundations for political, social, economic, and spiritual development: America as a land where freedom rightly used, expands into greatness. The little boy can dream because those who have gone before have made it possible for him to develop his latent possibilities, and act upon the countless opportunities which are open to him. It is not difficult for grown-ups to share his feelings of happiness in eager anticipation of a great catch the next moment. We olders have been there and we love the boy for refreshing our memories. And, as we share his feelings, let us devote ourselves to make America the kind of place in which little boys may fish and dream of the greater America which their generation will make. NORVIN C.
