Monroe Ridenhour
Dies At Age 71
Monroe Hobson Ridenhour
Sr., 71, of Cooleemee died
Wednesday night at the Davie
County Hospital. He has been
seriously ill for 10days.
Born September 10, 1898, in
Mecklenburg County, he was
the son of the late John Henry
and Fanny Belle Baity Riden
hour.
Mr. Ridenhour was a retired
insurance salesman for Life of
Virginia and a member of Cool
eemee United Methodist Church
and the Order of the Redmen.
He is survived by his wife, the
former Grace Isley; two daugh
ters, Mrs. Harold Boger of
Mocksville, Rt. 4, Mrs. C. A.
Boon of Stone Mountain, Ga.;
four sons, M. H. Ridenhour, Jr.
of Charlotte, the Rev. Henry I.
Ridenhour of Pilot Mountain,
Norman G. Ridenhour of Green
sboro, and Thomas L. Riden
hour of Mocksville, Rt. 4; 14
grandchildren; one great
grandchild; two sisters, Miss
Elsie Ridenhour of Cooleemee,
and Mrs. A. V. Walker of Salis
bury, Route 1.
Funeral services were con
ducted at Cooleemee Methodist
Church Friday at 2 p.m. by the
Rev. William Dingus. Music
was furnished by Mr. CharlesL.
Isley, accompanied by Miss
Mariola Crawford. Burial fol
lowed in Rowan Memorial
Park.
Pallbearers, all nephews of
Mr. Ridenhour, were Claud
York of Asheboro, Paul Sowell
of Jonesboro. Ga., O. L. Vogler,
Jr. of Reidsville, Buddy Robin
son of Winston-Salem, Jim
Wertz of Winston-Salem, and
Ben Isley of Haw River.

Of Cooleemee
COOLEEMEE - Mrs. Alton
Frances Boger Peoples, 80, of
Cooleemee died Sunday after
noon at her home.
She was bom Nov. 17, 1889 in
Davie County, the daughter of
the late Baxter and Mary Bett
Hunter Boger. She was a mem
ber of Chestnut United Method
ist Church.
Funeral services were con
ducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. in
Eaton's Funeral Home in Mock
sville. The Rev. Charles Bur
chette will officiate and burial
was at Chestnut Methodist
Church cemetery
Survivors include the hus
band. M. D. Peoples: one
daughter, Mrs. Clarence Ham
pton of Rt. 4, Mocksville, two
sons, Arthur Peoples of Salis
bury, and Floyd Peoples of the
home; one brother, Glenn Boger
of Rt. 5. Mocksville; 11 grand
children and 15 great grand
children.
