NEW LONDON —Davie Coun ty's Rebels wrapped up their second straight regular-season basketball championship in the North Piedmont Conference last night with an 80-71 victory over North Stanly's Comets. North Stanlv's girls also clinched the North Piedmont championship with a 40-30 win over Davie in the first game of the twin bill. Tony Seaford had the hot hand for the Davie boys with 30 points, his career high. James "Jingles" Ijames tossed in 22 for the Rebels. "Hie victory gave Davie Coun ty a 13-2 conference mark and a 14-5 overall record. Second place South Iredell's regular season titles hopes were ended last night with 71-66 overtime loss to West Rowan. The Vikings are 12-4 in the league.
