ClDlmwim JOWMI, We*i«dey, May 6, lf7o 2 Sgt. White Earns AF Unit Award Techical Sergeant Harvey M. White, son rf Mr. and Mrs. H. C. White of Rt. 5, Mocksville, N.C., is a member of a unit that has earned the U.S. Air Force Out standing Unit Award. The 437 th Military Airlift Wing at Charleston AFT, S.C., was cited for meritorious ser vice from July 1968 to July 1969 for its support of military oper ations. This marks the fourth time in five yean the wing has been honored as a t outstanding unit. Sergeant White, i flight engi neer in the 437 th, w.ll wear the distinctive service ribbon to mark his affiliation with the unit. The organization is a part of the Military Airlift Command which provides global airlift for U.S. military forces. The sergeant, a 1948 graduate of Farmington (N.C.) High School, has completed a tour of duty in Vietnam. His wife, Mild red, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Ellis of Rt. 1, Ad vance, N.C. Senior Citizens Schedule Meeting For May 15 The Mocksville Senior Citi zens will hold their monthly meeting at the Davie County Education Center in Cooleemee on Wednesday, May 13, at 4 p.m. Mrs. Bettye D. Murphy of Mocksville will present a pro gram of interest to all senior citizens. Mrs. Murphy is a former Cool eemee girl who is interested in her home town people. All senior citizens are invited to attend. Singing Service Slated At Turrentine Baptist Hiere will be an all singing service at the Turrentine Bap tist Church on Sunday, May 24, at 7 p.m. The Gospel Crusaders will be guest singers for the evening. Hie public is cordially invited to attend.
