Herman Wood Former Resident Charles Herman Wood, 59, of 1179 Congo Ave., Akron, Ohio, died there Tuesday, May 5. Son of the late Walter and Alice Wood, Mr. Wood was for merly of Cooleemee. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Sadie Parker Wood; one daughter, Mrs. Dale Prather of Moorpark, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Claude Boger of Cool eemee; two brothers, Draper Wood of Charlotte and Walter Wood of Los Angeles, Calif.; and three grandchildren. Graveside services were held in Rowan Memorial Park, Salis bury, at 10 a.m. Saturday, con ducted by the Rev. Downs Spit ler of Winston-Salem. Funeral services were held Thursday in Akron. Honorary pallbearers were John Parker, Ronnie Lookabill, Grimes Parker, Jr., Fred Scott, Dale Prather, Larry Scott and Ron Whit more. Mrs. Stallings Former Native Mrs. Louise Owen Stallings, 70, of Alexandria, Virginia died Saturday night, May 9, at an Alexandria Hospital after an illness of two years. Mrs. Stallings, formerly of Cooleemee, is survived by her husband, John O. Stallings of the home; a son, Morris F. Segraves of Delphia, Mary land; one brother, M. G. (Buck) Owen of Salisbury; one sister, Mrs. Bessie Bell of Statesville and one half sister, Mrs. Theo dore Alexander of the Gladstone Road, Cooleemee. F'uneral services were con ducted this morning (Wednes day) in Alexandria. C. R. /AcDaniel Of Woodleaf MOCKSVILLE - Clarence Ray McDaniel, 56, of Rt. 1, Woodleaf, died Saturday at his home after suffering a heart attack. Mr. McDaniel was born Jan. 1, 1914, in Rowan County, the son of A. L. and Mamie Hood McDaniel of Rt. 1, Woodleaf. He was employed at N. C. Finish ing Co. Also surviving are hi 6 wile, Mrs. Nell Lyerly McDaniel; two daughters, Mrs. Jim Whitman of Rt. 1, Woodleaf, and Miss Sylvia McDaniel of the home; a son, Gary McDaniel of Rt. 1, Salisbury; a sister, Mrs. P. He was born in Iredell County, son of the late William and Rebecca Gaberd Foster. He is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Pierce Foster and Mrs. Jake Meroney of Mocksville, Mrs. Curtis Knight of Charlotte, Mrs. J. W. Page of Raleigh, and Mrs. Rebecca Zander of Concord; one son, M. T. Foster of Concord; a half sister, Mrs. Etta Cartner of Harmony; and a half-brother, Charlie Foster of Newport News, Va.
