Johnson, State Director of Farmers Home Ad ministration, has announced the appointment of Mr. Homer S. Barnes of Route 3, Mocksville to the Davie County Farmers Home Administration County Committee for a three-year term. Mr. Barnes succeeds Mr. John M. Ferebee whose term has expired. Mr. Barnes* term of office began officially on July 1,1970. Hs will serve on the three member committee with Mr. James W. Barnhardt and Mr. Hubert L. Bailey. The Farmers Home Adminis tration County Committee cer tifies eligibility of applicants for Farmers Home Administration loans and recommends action in making and servicing loans to the FHA County Supervisor. The Committee also advises on other activities connected with the varied programs offered by Farmers Home Administration. Library News The talents of the people in Davie County are many and varied. For the next few weeks, the library will have on display samples of the music and verse of one of its residents, A. A. Piper of Route S, Mocksville. Mr. Piper is a native of Ten nessee, a veteran of World World I, and a graduate of Southwestern University. He has served as Assistant Professor of Accounting and Professor of Commerce at Centenary College in Louisiana where he was also presented an honorary Doctor of Laws degree.
