Approximately 425 people
attended the Hawaiian Luau at
Hickory Hill Golf and Country
Club Saturday evening, August
29th.
Upon their arrival, the guests,
who were appropriately attired
for the occasion, were
presented Ids by Miss Patricia
Hendrix and Miss Lynn Owens.
Seating was around the
swimming pool of the club at
tables covered with bright linen
doths.
A buffet supper was served by
Paul Myers Catering Service of
Winston-Salem.
An elaborate floral
arrangement was floating in the
center of the pool. The cen
terpiece featured Bird of
Paradise blossoms with other
floral clusters. Smaller
arrangements of candles and
flowers made a web around the
centerpiece.
Each table was centered with
flowers and candles. Fire
torches, paper flowers, and
other items characteristic of the
Islands were used to advantage
in decorating.
After the meal, Hanging was
enjoyed to the music of Cecil
Campbell and His Islanders.
