Senior Citizens News By MARY DUNCAN Hie Senior Citizens met Mon day, Sept. 14 with 67 members and one visitor present. Mr. Fred Murphy, president, called the meeting to order. Mr. Frank Miller led the de votions in the absence of the chaplain, Mr. C. W. Shepherd who remains a patient at Davie hospital. TTie Sunshine committee re ported get-well cards had been sent to Mrs. Ema McMahon, Mrs. Jettie Jordan, Mr. C. W. Shepherd, Mr. Grady Spry, and Mrs. Frank Pennegar. Sympa thy cards were sent to Mr. Sidney Benson, Mrs. Rosanna Swink, and Mrs. Sadie Messick. The remainder of the meeting was taken up with the business of electing new officers. There will be a special meet ing at 10:00 Monday, Sept. 21 at the recreation center. This meeting should be of interest to all Senior Citizens. C. O. (Jake) McDaniel cele brated his birthday Saturday, Sept. 12 with friends and rela tives. Among the crowd was Mrs. Ida Foster, Mr. Frank Foster and daughter, Vickie, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Perrell and Sibil, Miss Jeannie McDaniel and Mr. Robert Tay lor of Winston, Mrs. Ronnie Beard and Mr. and and Mrs. Wilson Wagoner. CCB Directors Declare Dividend > Directors of Central Carolina Bank & Trust Company in their regular quarterly meeting this week declared a dividend of 27Vi per share payable October 1 to shareholders of record Sep tember 15,1970. Payment of the divident will bring to 82>6 cents the total paid during 1970, as coi spared with 72Me cents for the first Jiree quarters of 1960. The session was held jointly with the bank's Apex Board, at MacGregor Downs in Cary. Fol lowing the official meeting, Cen tral Carolina Bank's directors and officers were luncheon hosts to guests from Apex and Cary. Public Speaking Offered At RTI A course in Public Speaking will be offered by the Adult Education Division of Rowan Technical Institute. The class will meet from 7:00-9:30 p.m. one night per week for a period of ten weeks beginning Wednes day, September 16,1970.
