Bowls of mixed flowers graced the nantels and end tables of the home on Church street. After arrival of the guests, ice cream with ginger ale and cookies were served. In the games, which followed, Mrs. Robert Lee Smith won the club prize/ dusting powder, and Mrs. Lath Morriss received the ^uest award, toilet water. f' Mrs. Bradham had as guests in additional to the club members,- Mrs. Lath Morriss, Miss Hazel Monk, and Miss Mae Joyner. Mr. and Mrs. B. M. Lewis were hosts at a delightful outdoor supper on Saturday evening, in compliment to Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Modlin, of Portsmouth, Va Guests enjoyed a sumptuous meal consisting of fried chicken, ham, biscuit, potato salad, sliced tomatoes, pickles, sandwiches, iced tea, sherbet and cake. B. degree at the University jf North Carolina finals last week with an average of 91.5, missing membership in Phi Beta Kappa, na tional honorary scholastic fraternity, ay only one point. The requirement for the fraternity being 92.5. Friends here will be interested to know that young Jones completed the normal 4 year oourse in S and 1-3 pears, and made the honor roll for five quarters. He was vice president of his fraternity, Phi Delta Theta, a social fraternity. Going in for athletics only during his first year 'at the University, Jones received his numerals in foot ball and track while a freshman.
