Building and Loan Meeting Held Tuesday The annual stockholders meeting, of the Farmville Building ?uid Loan Association, was held in the City Hall, Tuesday evening, April 16, at 8:00 o'clock, at which time the fol lowing members of the Board of Directors were reelected; J. O. Pol lard, W. A. McAdams, Manly liles, R. LeRoy Rollins, John B. Lewis, A. W. Bobbitt and G. A. Rouse. At a meeting of the Board, held later in the evening; the following officers were reelected; J. O. Pollard, president; W. A. McAdams, vice pres ident; G. A. Rouse, secretary and treasurer, and J. B. Lewis attorney. U. D. C. Mrs. J. H. Darden was gracious hostess to the Rebecca Winbourne Chapter, U.D.C., at its April meeting. Featuring an enthusiastic business session were reports given by Mrs. R. D. Rouse, president, Mrs. W. M. Willis and Mrs. F. M. Davis from the District meeting held recently in Weldon. Mrs. J. W. Parker spoke of plans to complete the Chapter's record of men ichthe community, of Confederate ancestry, who served in World War II. Mrs. Sidney Carr, program chair man, introduced as guest speaker, her daughter-in-law, Mrs. F. T. Carr who gave an intensely interesting paper which dealt with ships used during the War Between the States.
