Pollard brought inter esting highlights from the recent State Federation of Women's Clubs annual convention held at the Greens boro College. She spoke of Burly j Childhood Training and Youth Con servation which wera stressed I throughout the convention program. I She informed members the club was publicly commended for Ha Tiny Tots Playground Project and received a certificate for scoring 100 per cent in all of its Federation rat ings. * Mrs. Pollard also told bf the pre sentation of Miss Annie Parkins in recognition at bar splendid record aa a teacher and aa a clubwoman, the presentation of Mrs. W. Jesse Moye. as president of the 16th District and announced that Miss Hell en Bouse, of Farmville, WCUNC graduate, ap peared on Friday morning's program as soloist. * Mrs. Howard Moye, point system chairman, presented a gift of sta tionery to Mrs. W. Swimming Pool Open The Municipal Swimming Pool was opened for the summer season on Wednesday afternoon. Miss Dorothy Smith is manager, Dickie Thornton and Bobbie Russell, lifeguards. At present the pool will be open from ten to twelve a. m. and from two to seven p. m. KINDERGARTEN CLASS PRESENTS PROGRAM Mrs. Florence Thome presented the following members of her Kinder garten Class in a program given on Tuesday evening in the High School auditorium, Alex Allen, Brand* Bar rett, Beth Baker, Magalene Blalock, Johnny Dixon, Jean Farr, Kafltrtne Gardner, Bobby Ray Harper, David Harris, Doneita Hedgepeth, Richard Joyner, Betsy Ann King, Linda Mew bom, Linda Murphroy, Hadley Mor gan, Henri Perle Johnson, Gus Roe Buck. . Jacquelin Nolan and Jo Ann Gregg could not attegd because of sickness. Henri Perle Johnson opened the program with a Welcome followed by Greetings and an Evening Prayer, sung by all the children. All took part in the Springtime playlet and were moat entertaining in their frolicsome portrayal of rab bits, butterflies, bees, roses, lilies, daisies, and pansies. Brands Barrett, as queen, recited fitting poetry.
