Prior to the ceremony, Mrs. Hay
wood Smith, organist, played a pro
gram oif nuptial selections, including
"Cavatina," by Raff, "Pathetique,"
from Symphony 6, by Tschaikowaky,
"Dwpuns," by Biset, "Songa With
out Words," by Thome, and "Gen
uine Amoroaa" by Nerin. Mrs.
Clarence Moye, soprano, of Many,
?ano- "Because." by d'Hardelot, and
"Oh Promise Me," _ by deKovan. The
traditional wedding marches were
used and "Liabestraum," by Liixt
waa softly played while the vowa
were spoken. Lutitin's'"Benediction"
was played on ths*carillonic bells as
an echo of the Church's blessing, and
Mendelssohn's wedding march waa
played on the bells also.
Tha bride and bridegroom entered
thp Church -together, unattended. The
bride wore a navy crepe dress in the
autumnal made with draped skirt and
waist fastening at the side. Her
off-the-faee hat was trim
med with self-color taffeta bows;
white gloves were elbow length and
accessories were navy. Her only orna
ment was a strand of pearls. She
wore orchids tied with ribbons in
two shades of lavender.
Ushers were W. Morris <Greene, of
Newport News, Vs., a brother of the
bride, and John C. Parker.
The mother of the bride, Mrs.
Algie Jackson Greeny wore a mid
night blue dress of sheer crepe and
a corsage of white roses.
The bridegroom's mother, Mrs.
lames Norman Yates, of Dunn, chose
a beige dress said wore a corsage of
red roses at her shoulder. ~
