They will make Farmville their home, and will assist Farmville bus patrons in planning trips, arranging connec tions, and provide generally for the travel comfort of all patrons. They will give complete information by phone on all schedules arriving and departing as well as fares to any point The opening of this station, and others in this area, is part of an overall plan of the bus company for bringing the people of North Caro lina better bus service and atation facilities. Because of the lack of building materials and labor the com pany is taking care now of only those points where stations are most need ed, Mr. Newton said. To most people, the big crimson and cream buses that operate through Farmville are looked upon as "The" bus for GreenvQle, or Wilson, or at the most, for Raleigh and Charlotte. That's true, because they do go to these places on rather frequent sche dules; but the emblem on the aide of the buses?a map of the United States with the word Trailways through it, signifies a much bigger operation indeed. These buses, as well as all buses carrying this emblem and are paint ed cream and crimson, are operated by Carolina Trailways, just one of the companies called National Trail ways Bus System. They operate over 66,000 miles of the highways in the United States, and just recently added member companies that oper ate in Mexico and Alaska, making it international in scope. This makes it the largest bus transportation sys tem in the United States, and there by in the world. Even the passenger who rides only to Greenville and Roeky Mount bene fits by such an association, for the f, in that the ition, joint fa bo delay region to fleet of : I more "through" 1 will be placed in service so that paa sengen can travel great distances without making a change. Urea now, one can travel via Trailwayr from Wilson to Washington, D. C., without making changes, or from Norfolk to Chariotfee. The new improved baa station, the modern bases coming through Parm ville each day, indeed, brings to Fmraville the .ultimate is modsru and economical travel, on a local and na tional scale.
