"On a field of corn where I had a good stand,
I aidedressed it with 250 lbs. per acre of Chil
ean Nitrate when the corn was knee high. Just
to see what, would happen, I doubled the side
dressing on a few rows and on the next rows
left it off whogether. When we checked up on
the results, I found that the corn that had not
gotten any soda had bred above the ears; that
which got the 250 pounds showed a Utile fir
ing, while the corn that got douMe, had not
fiied at all. 1 used to think that firing was
caused bv dry weather but now I believe it
really is hunger for nitrate."

HOUSE PAINT
i savailable
WM is DaPont House Psint so brilliantly white? Becauseit's
whb titanium dioxide, the pigment that's even whiter than

S??$- (2(t+m<nf
Da Poat House Pilot is so formulated that, as time gob by, a
fine white powder forms mo the surface. Heavy
rains wash this powder away, taking dusfmnd dirt with it, and
leaving the surface clean and white again. (Excessive accumula
tions of dirt, particularly in sooty industrial communities, or in
heavily shaded locations, may delay or interfere with this process.)
Because this "self-cleaning"' is gradual, the wearing qualities of
the paint film are not abnormally affected.
Forms a beautiful, durable coating that protects against rust, roc
and decay. Available in white and popular tintai When yon paint
?our house, use the paint that givea it both lasting beauty and
lasting protection. >
