The wedding took place in Meridian in the home of Rev. J. C. McQueen, Jr., who offi ciated using the double ring cere mony. The couple left after the ceremony for a trip to New Orleans, La., and the Gulf Coast, after which they will make their home with the groom's parents near Farmville. Rouse, program chair man for the afternoon, then gave an interesting account of the life of Fira Benenson, who runs the Salon de Couture, the custom dress shop in Bonwit Teller. Although Miss Benenson's shop exists only for the wealthy women who are preoccupied with their appearance, her fabulous life, as expressed in her talents, is one of interest to all womankind and it is a privilege to peek into her untidy, littered workroom for a vision of feminine creations being created; to hear Miss Benenson's clever talk (sometimes in several languages) across the dinner table; or, to marvel at her interest and strategy as she adroitly guides the affairs of Russian and Polish re fugees. She is married to Count Ja nusz Illinski, a Pole, who went off to war in 1939 and ia still in the Polish army in Europe. After adjournment, strawberry shortcake, coffee and cheese straws wefe served to the members. WOMAN'S CLUB Elizabeth Lawrence's book about spring gardens was the subject of the talk by Miss Tabitha DeViscon ti at the Woman's club, Friday after noon. Miss DeVisconti, who also pre sided, discussed the cancer control campaign, which begins April 21> A memorial was read by Mrs. J. M. Hobgood and a poem by Mrs. C. H. Mozingo in memory of Mrs. Giles Korriegay, who died recently; a com mitte was also appointed to draw up resolutions. Delegates chosen to represent the club at the convention at Wrights ville Beach, May 21-23, are Mrs. C. W. Blackwood, Mrs. R. W. Rader and Miss Mamie Davis. Excerpts from the state and national magazines were given by Mrs. W. Jesse Moye. The home of Miss Mamie Davis in which the meeting was held was profusely decorated with hawthorn. Mrs. R. W.
