Phillips, health offiSer for Pitt county, announces that a free tuberculosis clinic will be held in Greenville ? in the offiices of the health department oo Friday after noon, Nov. 21, from 2 to 4 o'clock. Brooks will be conduct the clinic, one of the regular monthly clinics made possible through the sale of Tuberculosis Seals at Christ 4-H CLUB ACHIEVEMENT PROGRAM IN GREENVILLE The Pitt County Council of 4-H 'Clubs will hold its qnnual Achieve ment Day program, November 14, at 7:30 in the Greenville, Armpry. A very eliciting program has been planned with' prizes to be given for the year's project acti vity. Miss Eleanor Barber, assistant State 4-H leader, will make thp prin cipal address. The latter, half of the program will be given over to rec reation, at which time seats will be removed from the floor to give more room for playing. . BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT Mr. and Mrs. Lester Earl Turnage, Jr., of Greenville announce the birth of a son, David Earl, at Pitt General hospital, Greenville, Sunday, Novem ber 9. Mrs. Turnage is the former Miss Janet Chestnut of Vincennes, Ind. to- her bridge club at' the home of Mrs. G. If. H&lden Wednesday after Yellow chrysanthemums were In the living dfota and the deco ra tione on the buffet were two cor nucopias overflowing with fruits and berries. A color scheme of green and yellow was carried out. in decora tions and refreshments. As guests arrived they were seat ed at card tables covered with white cloths. Center-pieces wope corsages of chrysanthemums for each guest. A congealed salad course and coffee were served. Later in the afternoon, coca colas and nuts were passed. Guest towels were given to Mrs. R. V. FIser who scored high for the club and to Mrs. Irvin Morgan, who made high acore-for guests. Mrs. E. N. Petteway received the consolation award, gold. matches. Special guests were Mrs. Petteway. Mrs. Morgan, Mrs. R. D. Harris, Mrs. R. T. 'Williams and Mrs. Walter Jones and Mnt Frank Allen, her homwguest, Mrs. W. R. Weiser, and gre. John D. Dixon. SAM BUNDY SPEAKS AT iAIHES NIGHT PROGRAMS Sam Bandy, superintendent of the local'school, was guest speaker at a Scottish Rite banquet held at Clark's in Greenville on Tuesday night of this week. He was accompanied by Mrs. Bundy and Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Bundy. Mr. and Mrs. Bundy attended the Kiwanis Ladies Night in Jackson ville on Wednesday night of this week. The program was in the USO building and Mr. Bundy was guest speaker. Mr. and Mrs. Bundy will attend the Wilson Kiwanis Ladies Night on Friday night of this week to be held in Wilson at thfe Zam Zam Club. Mr.. Bundy will be the master ~6t cere monies and principal speaker. ATTEND WEDDING Mr. and^Mrs. Elbert C. Holmes and son, MaCj. spent the week end in Wendell where they attended the wedding of Mrs. Holmes' cousin, Mis3 Annie Sue Mattox, to M. E. Faison, Saturday evening. VICTORIA OAKLEY Mrs. Victoria Oakley, 71, wife of the late J. K. Oakely, died at her home in Saratoga Sunday morning following several months of illness. Funeral services were held from the home Monday afternoon, Conducted by the Rev. L. Manning, pastor of Marlboro Free Will Baptist Church of .which Mrs. Oakley was a member. Burial was in the family cemetery near Fountain. Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Mary Whitley of the home, Mrs. Bettie Harris of Wil banks and Mrs. Jack Owens of La Grange; two brothers,.
