Prior to the ceremony, Mrs. Ar
thur P. Joyner, organist of the
Farmville Baptist Church, played
Schubert's "Serenade," "Estrellita,"
by Ponce-Kohimann, . "Cavalleria
Ru&icana," by Mascagn^ "Song to
the Evening Star," bf Wagiier,
"Poem," by Fibich, and "Angslfs Se
renade," by BAgh. Elbert a Holmes,
baritone, of Fhrmville. -sang "Belov
ed It is Morn," and "Because," by
d'Hardelot. The traditional wedding
marches were need, "To a Wild
Rose," by ICaedewell, was played
during the ceremony and Lutkin'l
Benediction was rendered by Mr.
Holmes at the close.
The bride, given in njarriage by her
father, wore a wedding gown of ivory
duchess satin made with a fitted
bodice of Alencon lace over satin
with a net yoke elaborately embroid
ered With seed pearls. The sleeves
of lace were finished with points
over the hands. The full skirt ex
tended into a long train. Her veil of
imported antique French illusion was
attached1 to a cap of Brussels laee
with orange blossoms and had been
worn on the occasion of their wad
dings by her sisters, Mrs. Anthony
D. Holland, of Richmond, Calif., and
Mrs. Paul Ricks Bumette. She car
ried a bouquet of white orchids
showered with white rosebuds and
bouvardia. Her only ornament was
