The short courses offer a series of "classes" on a single topic by promi nent speakers, over a period ranging from eight to 20 weeks. This is the field into which Town Hall hopes to expand when it has sufficient funds to enlarge its building. The concert department of Town Hall has become the mecca of aspir ing young musicians the world over. Many now celebrated artists appear ed publicly for the first time at Town Hall. Last season 107 musicians made their initial ?New York appearances on the Town Hall stage.
