The Farmville Bed Devils will open the football season tonight (Friday) with Noriina- The gaiae wiU he play ed in Farmville Athletic Farit at 8 p,m. This is the first game for each team this year and is the beginning of a two year series between the two teams. The Farmville Band will fnrnlah music during the -game and ill give exhibitions during the half time. The Farmville team coached by Elbert Moye and CharlesTuekerwjll be light, and inexperienced, but will prove to be a scrappy outfit. Thirty boys have been practicing in the prd-' season .drills and enthusiasm is run ning higher than in previous years. Seven returning lettermen from hist year will be the nucleus of the team. Farmville has a nine game schedule with five of the gaihes to be played in Farmville under the lights. Walstonburg- PTA • ’ Hears Principal Principal J. R. Peeler of the Wal stonburg High School gave an inter esting talk on various phases of parent-child relations when the P.T.A. held its first meeting of the year last Thursday. After the meeting was called to order by the president, Henry Burch, an impressive devotion was conducted by Marihi Burch. Mrs. A. J. Craft, secretary, read the minutes and they were approved by the group. Hr. Burch announced that the various committees for last term would \be retained for the present term. Miss Ellis resigned as Program Chairman and, Mrs. Henrietta Williamson was appointed as her successor. Earl Lang, treasurer, reported no funds in the treasury except for the $700 Reserve Fund. Atfer a discussion on the tobacco contest, the organization voted to allow the students to sponsor the/ contest It was agreed that it is a student project and the proceeds; should go into the school' treasury instead of the P.T.A. treasury. In his remarks to the group, Mr. Peeler stated that the child's atti tude toward school and home life is■ an imporant factor, in his develop ment He emphasized the necessity for parents to make their children feel secure and at the same time teach them to accept responsibility, for their duties.
