to information received -from J. How
ard Moye of Greenville, president, en<
Norman Y. Chambliss, manager.
$3,760 is being offered by the 196S
fair for agricultural exhibits, sue
this is the largest amount ever to be
offered to agricultural interests and
leaders by a county fair. The new
and up-to-date fairgrounds at Green
ville will be used for the second year.
Itt is adjacent to the airport, provides
a large main exhibit building, an ex
cellent Cattle and Swine Building,

Whereas, it appears to my satis
faction, by duly authenticated record
of the proceedings for the voluntary
dissolution thereof by the unanimous
consent of all the stockholders, de
posited in my office, that the Farm
ville Auto Sales Company, Inc., .a
corporation of this State, whose prin
cipal office is situated in the Town
of Farmville, County of Pitt, State
of North Carolina (W. T. Candler,
Sec. and Treas., being the agent
therein and in charge thereof, upon
whom process may be served), has
complied with the requirements * of
Chapter 66, General Statutes, entit
led "Corporations,” preliminary to
the issuing of this Certificate of Dis

said corporation did, on the 26th day
of July, 1962, file in my office a
duly executed and attested consent, in
writing to the dissolution of said cor

Fair will take place Mondayj after
noon, October 6, and the Fair will
continue for the entire week. A pre
opening will be staged on Sunday
afternoon, October 6, at the airport,
when the Fair Management will pre^
sent Irish Horan's Lucky Hell Driv
ers, one of the most thriling shows
before the Americanpublic today.

The Strates Model Shows will be
on the midway. This is a big railroad
show, presenting 20 modern rides, and.
16 up-to-date shows. This is the larg
est midway ever to appear in East
ern North Carolina.
— Manager Chambliss, a veteran fair
manager who knows a good fair
when he sees one and who knows
what goes into making a successful
event, has this to say about the 1962
fair: “Hie people of Pitt county have
made their fair at Greenville one of
the largest in the South. Hie facili
ties for taking care of exhibits and
patrons are excellent. This will be
the greatest fair in the history of
the eounty, and we hope to reach an
attendance mark of at least 76,000.

work with the fine people of Pitt
county in presenting ’Pitt County on
Parade’.”

Through the friendly co-operation
of its citizenship, both white and
colored, Farmville has been able to
build up a Negro school that in molt
respecteequals and in some respects
surpasses any in the state for a com
munity of its population.
The -school closed last session with
a membership of d#0 elementary and
196 high school student e. For the
coming year it will operate with
twenty elementary and seven high
school teachers.
The administration has long been
cognizant of the very obvious fact
that a very small percentage of its
product would he financially able to
pursue a profession through a long,
and expensive college career and that
tiie great majority would have to seek:
a living by some form of manual
labor. Constantly faced with these
facts, it long ago began to look for-,
ward toward a program that would
more nearly meet the old philosophy1
of the greatest good for the greatest
number. ~

tion it has developed a program that
more nearly meets the needs-of both
