Service* at Presbyteries Chink Yesterday Morning-Burled la Clover. The body of Mt 11. C. Adams, accompanied by bis wife and lather, arrived in Gastonia from Tucson, Arizona, Wednesday night. Itarly yesterday morning it was taken to the home of Col. R. N. Wilson, and thence to the Presbyterian church at eleven o’clock. The services were con ducted by Rev. R. C. Anderson. Accorcing to directions given to his wife by Mr. Adams m bis last hours, Messrs. W. W. Glenn, L. C. Pegratn, D. K. McConnell, J. W. Kirkpatrick, Lean Adams, and Hardaway Stowe served as pall-bearers. Lead, Kindly Light and Asleep in Jeans wen: also designated at the same time as the hymns to be used, and bis last wishes were observed. A large party of fnends ac companied the family from Clover to attend the services in Gastonia, and a long procession of carriages followed the hearse irom uuuwii, u> me cemetery at Clover, where the services were concluded with prayer at the grave between three and four o’clock. „ PATTEISOH-PLOOTL Miss Annia Lara Plank Becaaaa the Brida al Hr. Oaarga V. Pattaraan al Kings Monnlala. The marriage of Miss Annie Love Plonk and Mr. George V. Patterson was solemnised Tues day evening at 7 o’clock at the borne of Dr. and Mrs. Frank G. Wilson. The brief and impres sive ceremony which joined these two young lives was per formed by the bride’s pastor. Rev. R. C. Anderson, in tbe presence of a few relatives and friends. After the ceremony the happy couple left on No. 38 for Wash ington where they will spend a week or ten days, returning to Kings Mountain which will be their future home. Showers of rice and the good wishes of their friends followed them as they boarded tbe train. Tbe bride is the beautiful and accomplished daughter of Mr. M. L. Plonk of Kings Mountain, but since the death of her mother several years ago she has made her home in Gastonia and his lor several years been the ef ficient book-keeper of the Pied mont Telephone and Telegraph Co., and is very popular among a large circle of mends. Mr. Patterson is a young bus iness man of sterliog worth, >e ing a member of the well known grocery firm of Patterson Bros., at Kings Mountain. Imlalini of Rupee*. We, the members of the Epworth League of the West End Methodist church, have sustained a grievous loss in the recent death of Mrs. R. H. Hare —a .beloved and most faithful member of our orgauixatiou. In testimony of oar esteem and ap preciation of her loving and faithful nervice, we desire to offer the following resolutions: First, That our society mourns the loss of one of its most faith ful members, tbe church and community the example of a bright Christian character. Second, That although our hearts are pained at her absence from our midst, yet we rejoice that we have hern hli-au-it hv her presence; and hnmbiy bow in submission to our heavenly Father's will. Third. That we extend to the stricken family oor loving and heart felt sympathy in this great sorrow. Peter's Hospital in Char totte Wednesday aitcrnoon at five o'clock, after an operation for an internal cancer, performed lost before noon bv Dr*. Preasly and L. N. Glenn. The body was brought to McAdenville yesterday morning, and will be buried at Lowell this morning. The funeral services will be con ducted by Rev. R. A. Miller at nine o'clock this morning in tbe McAdenville Methodist Church. Mrs. Roberts was 60 years old op the 28th of last February. Before her marriage to Mr. Rob erts she was a Mias Dixon of York connty, where a wide cir cle of relatives will mourn her death. She is survived by a husband and the following chil dren: Mr. Camble Roberts, of Lowell. Messrs. H. K„ W. B., I^e, and WisUr Y. Roberts, of McAdenville, Mr. H. D. Rob erts of Warlc*boro. Mr. W. M. Roberts, of Spencer Mooouin and Mrs. Luella Stafford, of Me Adeavillc. Mrs. Roberts suffered mnch but was patient. She was a member of Beersheba Presby terian church in York county, and waa esteemed by all who knew her u a devoted wife and mother, a kind neighbor, and a true friend.
