We ought to as mcst of the boys hit the hay In heavy marching order. Pnrnnrnl Glennon says that the blue overalls issued' the other day make I the cutest pajamas. + =_ COMPANY G, 39TII INFANTRY. I The boys in Company G are surely proud of their new company street, as it makes it very nice for them to j go to Liberty park. We surely 'have got to hand it to our tlrst and second squads when there is a tire. They are already on I their feet when the alarm goes off. I Corporal Freer will surely get rich1 in a few months if Tic keeps on drawing what he drew the last pay day.j What are you going to do with all of that money, corporal? Drawing two cents a month is some payroll, as I see it. The boys in the company were certainly surprised when they found that there was someone who could "sling the bull." So we've got to hand it to Private Pugh for doing the job neatly. We understand that Private Pugh was a preacher in his day. But it's too bad. Old Boy, you are in the army now. He surely had the' boys guessing when he preached to them the other niirht. Keen it up, boy, you will be a real hon'est-to-Gqd preacher when you get out of this army. Pretty soft for those fellows who are quarantined on account of spinal meningitis. They say that it is the first* time that they had a few days off. and they say that they needed it. ATHLETES OF TWO \ REGIMENTS MATCHED The Thirty-ninth and Forty-seventh regiments put on another good athleticprogram it "Y" building 103 on Monday evening. These athletic nights are coming to be a feature of entertainment in camp that affords much pleasure.' Private Ware, Company F. 47th. and Private Merenbaek, of the 47th, started the evenings program by wrestling for 10 minutes to a draw. It proved a good opener itnd we were pleased to see th enien enjoy a good fast bout. Private Wright. Supply company. 3Dth. and Corporal Bridge. Company H. 47th, did a fast bit of work and in one minute Wriaht was on his back. Ledergerber, Company M, 39th. took his place and In four minutes Bridge was again on top and was given a good hand. The best of the evening was between O.I M. Lee, Headquarters company, 39th, and McGhan. Company C. 39th. both men know the game and for 10 minutes they sure, did use all they knew, first one, then the other. bQth men as quick as could be and no one could pick a winner. McGhan had a little on Lee in weight, but the men were very evenly matched. Lee and Schultz bout was posponcd again, as Shultz's arifi is still sore. When boxing came to its turn Barry, Company I, 39th, and Lattera, Company M, 47th, took places and then there took place a bout as never seen but few times in the same place. Latterra started with a great spirit and for a few minutes looked very good, but we never can tell, for the third round bell all but saved Latterra. Barry took things In his hands and for a few blows we thought we would carry Latterra ofT in a stretcher. Yes. it was good, and the crowd sure went crazy, all having a fit and seeing who could make the most noise. Peters, Company F, 47th, and "Bill" Sprout, Co. M, 47th, did a neat Job, both men went at it easy but 8prout is a bad man and it takes a good man to keep from meeting a hard on not many men like to be the one to take his jabs. We are pleased to state that the athletic field for the 39th is completed and is ready for use. Mr. Foster "and Lieut. Weller have been at work on the prbject for some time. The men should soon be in trim for the battle and sure will make use of these new things. ' ^ ^ ' A N D CAMP Fage ^7 ' New Central Hotel Hi MILITARY HEADQUARTERS W W'~ ' E. H. SPENCE, Manager.
