na, Cal. Mrs. Tom me Caulk joined
her parents in Washington and made

Miss Leone Rose, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Will Rose, underwent an
operation for appendicitus at Ba
ker's Hospital, Lumberton, Tuesday.
She is reported as do ng nicely.

Mrs. A. J. Fuller has returned
from Mt. Holly after visiting Leo
and 1 ttle daughter. Leo brought
her home; Lt. and Mrs. Clifford
have leased Mrs. Fuller's apartment.
Mrs. J. S. Johnson is spending this
week in Chicago. She left with
Mrs. Hank Justice on Monday. They
will vis t places of interest enroute
to Chicago, going by the Mammoth
Cave in Kentucky. Mrs. Justice, of
the Amy Personnel recently occu
pied Mrs. Johnson's apartment.

Mis. Walter Dargan accompanied
Mrs. Justice and Mrs. J. S. Johnson
to Chicago early Monday morning.
Mis. Dargan will proceed from Chi
cago to Detroit where she will v sit
friends.
Major C. V. Hadley, who is with
the 460th Airborne received his pro
motion, to the grade of Major April
15th.
Lt. and Mrs. Clayton CI fford. of
Lewistown, Pa. moved from Mrs.
Chandler Roberts into Mrs. A. J.
Fuller's apartment Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Thomas and
Crawford Thomas spent Monday in
Raleigh.
Mrs. Brown Hendricks spent the
past week end n Washington, D. C.
with friends.

Camp Mackall, for a group of 300
men to have a dance in Raeford at
the Armory cn Tuesday evening.

The Chaminade Club held its May
meeting early this month n order to
observe National Music Week.
This very enjoyable meeting was
held in the hoxe of Mrs. A. K. Cur
rie with Mrs. J. S. Poole assist'ng
hostess.
After a short business sersicn pre
sided over by the chairman, Mrs.
Clyde Upchurch, Mr. Currie an
nounced the program.
In observance of National Music
Week the Muse Juniors of the town
were presented in several delightful
numbers. Vera King, pupil of Mrs.
Arah Stuart was the first on the pro
gram. She played Valie Arabesque
by Lack.
Pupils of Mrs. H. C. McLauchlin
rendered numbers which had beer,
so enthusiastically received at her
recent annual rec tal. They were:
Elephant Pranks Bain by Marion
Lewis. The Rabbit Revels and
Romps Away VTilIiams, played by
Betty Holland. At The Donnybrook
Fair Scott by Joan Johnson.
The hostesses served an ice course
followed by demi-tasse.

DANCE AT CAMP MACKALL
FRIDAY NIGHT
AH girls wish-ng to attend the in
formal dance at Camp Mackall on
Friday evening, May 7th, are asked
to meet at the Soldiers' Center at
7:15 on that evening. An army truck
will carry the girls to the camp. An
officer w 11 ride on the truck both
to and from, the dance.
