PARNELL MARRIED In a ceremony of simple cnarm and beauty Miss Billie Bruce Mclntyre of Raeford, and Lt. Samuel Maur ice Parnell of Timmonsviile, S. C. and McDill Field, Tampa Florida were wedded Monday, August 30, at 4 o'clock in the Post Chapel of McDill Field. Chaplain Clarence Comfort, Jr., of Post Chapel officiated, using the dou ble ring ceremony. The vows were spoken before a background of palms, ferns, and white gladiola flanked by candelabra holding cathedral tapers. The bride was attended by Mrs. Henry S. Monroe of Tampa, Fla. The bridegroom had as his best man Lt. Richard Kirk McLeod. of Sumter, S. C. and McDill Field. Before the cer emony the organist played "In the Garden" and Schubert's "Ave Ma ria". As the wedding march from "Lohengrin' was played the bridal party entered the Chapel. The bride wore a smart fall suit of blue with grey accessories. Her flowers were a corsage of lovely white orchids and tube roses. The bride is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John B. Mclntyre of Bacford. Mrs. Parnell is a graduate of Hoke High School and attended Wake Forest College. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mis. C. K. Parnell of Timmons viile, S. C. and is a graduate of Tim monsviile High School and attended Clemson College and the University of South Carolina. A wedding supper followed the ceremony in the dining room balcony of the Tampa Terrace Hotel. Lt. and Mrs. Parnell for the present will make their home at 1605 Richard son Place, Tampa, Fla. Miss Mary Hazel Whitley left Mon day for Madison wheri she will be a member of the teaching staff of the city schools. Miss Whitley graduated from Eastern Carolina Teachers col lege last June. Mrs. Younger Snead, who has been living at Weldon and Kinston for some months arrived last Wednesday. Mis. Snead will make her home in Raeford. Mrs. Milton Carpenter and children of Ellerbee spent Sunday here with Mrs. J. D. Graham. Mrs. Robert Gamble and daughter, Charlotte, arrived Sunday from Bur lington to spend some time here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Mc-Faydcn. Mrs. C. B. Goswick and son, Claude, Jr., of Durham spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. W. L. McFayden. Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Carter and chil dren, former Raeford residents now living at Portsmouth, Va., are visiting friends here this week.
