TAPP AND MRS GRAHAM HOSTESSES A pretty party of the early fall was that given last Thursday by Mrs. Arch Graham and Mrs. Frank Tapp at the home of Mrs. Tapp on Harris Av enue. Beautiful fall flowers in pink and lavender graced the tables in living and dining room which were thrown together. Five tables were placed for bridge, which was played from 10:30 'til one when a delicious hot luncheon in two courses was served. Mrs. M. T. Poovey won high score prize and Mrs. Benton Thomas second high. O BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENTS , Lt. and Mrs. D. S. Tolar of Colum bia, S. Raeford's friendly postmaster, LaJ cy Clark, wants the folks of the coun ty reminded again that October 15 is the final date for mailing Christmas packages to the boys in the Army at overseas stations. Packages for those in the Navy, Marines and Coast Guard may be mailed as late as October 31st, he says.
