Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Johnson of Miles City, Montana visited re^ latives in this county and paid a short visit to their nieces, Mrs. J. £. Wood and Mrs. M. L. Wood and their families last week. Mr. Frank McDuffie of Raeford ac companied Mr. and Mrs. Johnson on their visit to Rockfish. They came to Raeford from Miami. Fla. and have returned to their home in Montana. A. W. Wood sent his tractor to break the land of the newly ac- quired playground at Rockfish school. Others have promised help on this project which is very much appreciated and will be a great help m getting tiie play ground ready for use. PTA held‘ its regular monthly meeting Wednesday night with a good program and very good at tendance. Mrs. C. S. Pickett and children spent the past week end with her mother, Mrs. M. R. Knight. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Ray were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. K. P. Ritter and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ray dined with Mrs. Marshall Ray and Mr. and Mrs. John Ray. The Christmas play to be given at Galatia church will be on Thursday night, December 22. Everybody- is invited to attend. We regret the omission last week of Mr. N. J. Ritter’s visit to his sister, Mrs. Lona Smith of Maxton the previous week end. At the last meeting of the Rock fish club Mrs. Stanley Crawley of the Arabia club gave a most in teresting and helpful demonstra tion on tufted bedspreads. Since then a number of women have expressed their intention of start ing a spread. They must, however, be registered on the regular election books, A number of polling places have been set up in each county, and voting may be done any time during the week. Information as to location of polling places may be obtained from the county farm agent. County supervisors do not re ceive a salary for their services.
