' / The Mock Trial sponsored by the PTA and put on by local talent at Rockfish school house last Friday night was quite a success in every way except at tendance wWdi was not so good * probably due to the fact that there are so many things happen-^ ing near Christmas. Cast for the play, were Rastus (Chicken thief) Sgt. Matlock, T. C. Jones and Clarence Pittman prosecuting at torneys. Rev. D. E. Miller and Capt. Clark, attorneys for the de fense. Mrs. Vernon Parsons, Ras tus’ wife. Mrs. M. R. Kmght the girl friend, Mrs. Matlock, Rastus’ mother-ih-law, who was highly in favor of his conviction, the judge, B. B. Cole* of Raeford, and a jury which found Rastus hot guilty after much argument pro and con by the attorneys and a pretty close to murder feeling between the girl friend and toe wife who went so far as to dis play a large knife during toe trial. The play was enjoyed very much by those present and a- roimd $27.00 was made for movie projector for toe school. Mist. Vera King who teaches at Nashville and Miss Ruby Wood of toe Franklinville school fac ulty arrived Wednesday to spend the Christmas holidays with home folks. Bruce Dees came home Thursday for Christmas. last Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Edge of Fay etteville were guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Boseman Sunday.
