This will take place as soon as it can be arranged be tween school Wents. Marion and Robert Wood went to White Lake last Sunday. The 4-H Club girls and some of their friends enjoyed a weiner roast on the school lawn last Friday. The Operetta given by Rockfish school will be on Wednesday night of next week. May 17th. Mrs. Mary Ann McGougan of Lumber Bridge and Mrs. Donald Yates of Dundarrach were guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Boseman Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Tart have been on the sick list lately. Sgt. and Mrs. J. D. Matlock and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Parsons entertained with a dinner party at the home of Mr. and MrSi Mat- lock last Saturday evening. In vited guests were Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Jones, Mr. and Mrs. George Monroe, Mr. and Mrs. B. B. Cole, Mr. and Mrs. Wilton Woo4, Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Wood, Mrs. M. R. Knight and Miss Annie Ray. All attended and were' -very appre ciative of generous hospitality and expressed themselves as having spent a most pleasant ev ening. Mrs. F. P. Bethea and O. L. Games were played and refreshments served. 0 Home Agent’s Narrative Report For April The fourteen Home Demonstra tion Clubs met in Hoke Coimty in April with 154 women present. Clothing leaders gave the demon stration on “The Professional Touch in Sewing” in twelve clubs and the Home Agent in two. Eighty-eight club women from Hoke County attended the annual 16th District Federation Meeting which, was held Jn Lumberton on .^pril 20. Hoke County received the gavel for having the largest number present on miles traveled. The Ashemont Club invited the members of the County Board of Commissioners, J. A. McGoogan, County Auditor, Sheriff D. H. Hodgin and Clerk of the Court John Cameron to be their guests for luncheon on Monday, April 3, the regular mectiDg day. for the board of CbmmlMtoiiers. Mrs. Tom Sinclair, Mr*. W. F, Sinclair, Mrs. W. H. Hare and Mrs.'M. C. Alnumd helped with sawing the meal. Two meetings on securing tele phones in the cotmty were held in April. The Telephone Commit-' tee met in the ' County Office Building on the evening of .April 13 and the general public was invited to a meeting at the Court house on the evening of April 24. The survey map on which homes of prospective telephone users were plotted was sent by the Home Agent to Mr. Gwyn Price’s office in Raleigh. The Wayside Club bought a hospital bed for a sick lady in their community. , The five 4-H Clubs met in April. A picture on poultry rais ing was shown by Mr. Stallings, the County Agent, at the joint meetings. Several of the Rockfish 4-H Club girls prepared cookies and pcnch and served these refresh ments at the .-^pril PTA meeting in Rockfish.
