Furr who have been making their home here for several months moved to Rockingham Tuesday. Mrs. K. P. Ritter and Mi.ss Patricia Ritter spent Thursday and Friday of last week at Caro- ;;r.a Beach. Mr. and Mrs. Graham Monroe were dinner guests of BSr. and Mrs. Israel Mann last Wednes day evening at Wrightsville Beach. A delicious sea-food dinner was served with all the things added to ihake a perfect meal. It was a very pleasant trip from every standpoint, the guests reported. J. A. Bryant and Halbert Blue of Aberdeen were guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Boseman for a short time Monday. Mrs. Mary Mclnnis and son, Thomas Mclnnis, visited Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Mclnnis in Asheville over the past week end. Miss Bennie Lee Brock has ac cepted a position with The Capi tol Dept. Store in Fayetteville. Miss Nancy Cameron of Caro- Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Monroe. i I lina Beach accompanied her aunt, Mrs. G. A. Monroe home for the past week end. day and since then has undergone a major operation. Mrs. C. L. Wood, Miss Ruby Wood and Worth Wood spent last Wednesday in Florence. S. C. Relatives here have received word from Mr. and Mrs. Ed Lindsay of Dallas, Texas, that their son, Eddie, aged 13 years has polio. He was stricken on June 26th jUst as they were ready to come to North Carolina on vacation. He has been seriously ill for some time but is now a little better. He is a patient in “Children’s Hospital” Dallas and will remaih there for several months, even if he continues to improve. Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Mrs. M. S. Gibson, Merrit Simpson, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Syd ney Sumner and daughter, Faye, made a trip to Western North Carolina on Friday, returning oh Sunday. Fred McFadyen spent Sunday at White Lake with friends. Mrs. Harris Parker, dental hy- genist in Tokyo, Japan, came by plane to Mahany, Pennsylvania to attend the funeral of her mo ther. She will arrive at Grannis Field, Fayettevijle, sometime this week to spend the remainder of her leave with Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lovette and other relatives in this community. “Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Plummer entertained with a picnic supper in honor of Sgt. Dennis R. Wilson last Saturday evening who is leaving Fort Bragg.
