H. McPhaul, and attended church at Antioch last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Everleigh spent Friday and Saturday in the mountains of Western North Carolina. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Howard, Johnny and Betty, of Arlington, Va. returned to their home on Sunday after visiting relatives for a week. Miss Winifred Bodie was a vis itor in Thomasville over the week end. Mrs. Hattie Warner of Durham spent Friday of last week with Mrs. Fanny Hodgin and Mrs. Flora McLauchlin. Mrs. Clyde Campbell and small daughters, Anne and Joreen, of Camp Butner spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Murphy McLauchlin. Mrs. Walter McNeill has been a patient In the Charlotte Me morial Hospital in Charlotte for two weeks and will have to be there for several weeks longer. Her many friends wish for her a speedy recovery. fully decorated with fall flowers and for refreshments she served chicken salad sandwiches, and coffee, along with the "hot cake." The November Club meeting will be held at the Allendale Com munity House with Mrs. H. F. Currie and Miss Willa McLauch lin as hostesses. Pfc. Fred Holland of Ft. Ben ning, Ga. spent last week with homefolks. Charles Conoly, who is station ed in San Antonio, Texas, called his family on the telephone Sat urday night and chatted with each member of his family. He is getting on fine. Home Demonstration Club The Antioch Home Demonstra Club met on Tuesday afternoon in the home of Mrs. J. M. An drews, with seventeen present. Mrs. Andrews had charge of the business meeting and the follow ing ladies were elected to serve as officers of the club in 1956. Mrs. Billy McMillan as president, Mrs. J. M. Andrews as vice-president, and Mrs. Alton McNeill as secretary and treasurer. Miss Josephine Hall was in charge of the discussion period, which was on cake making for the October meeting. Literature and many ' helpful ideas were given and Miss Hall baked a cake during the discussion and served it to the members while hot. Mrs. Andrews' home was taste- The Rev. Gower C. Crosswell, Jr. was in Raleigh Monday on a business trip. Just want to correct an error we made last week in telling a bout Susan Howard's birthday party. We said she was seven years old, and it caused much argument with some of her little friends, for Susan was just six years old at this special birthday party. The Rev. and Mrs. Gower C. Crosswell, Jr. attended a "Get l Together" supper meeting of sev eral preachers and their wives in Fayetteville Presbytery at the home of the Rev. and Mrs. Ros- coe Prince in Pinehurst on Mon day night. Men In The Service Pvt. Jimmy Bullard, whose wife and parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Bullard, live on Route 3, Red Springs, recently took part in a field training exercise held by the 5th Infantry Division in southern Germany. Realistic field problems and maneuvers form part of an inten sive training program conducted by the "Red Diamond" division, part of the Seventh Army. Bullard, a rifleman in Company I of the division's 11th Infantry Regiment, entered the Army in October 1954. He completed basic training at Fort Jackson, S. C, and arrived in Europe in March of this year. (i CO TO CHURCH SUNDAY LEGALS Mr. and Mrs. Albert Currie visited Mrs. Currie's mother, Mrs. Hunter, who is a patient in Moore County Hospital on Sunday. She will undergo surgery this week. Milton Parks has his two sons, Roy and Everett, from California visiting him for two weeks. His two daughters, who were form erly Katie Belle and Helen Parks, now living in Rock Hill, S. C. and Tampa, Florida have also visited their father. Mr. and Mrs. John D. McPhaul and children of Greensboro spent the week end with Mr. McPhaul's mother, Mrs. A. D. 'McPhaul.
