The circles of Tabernacle Church were postponed until next week on account of Labor Day this week. The Rev. Dewey Herring pastor of Galatia Church was back in his pulpit Sunday after a month's vacation. County Commissioner T. C. Jones and family have moved back to their home after spending the summer at their Lakeside cottage with no telephone connections. SSgt. Richard Avery '$ parents, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Avery of Monticello, N. Y. came last Friday and are spending a few days with the Avery family. Mr. and Mrs. hugene Barbour and children Jane, "Bo" and Ann, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Reynolds and children, Mike and Martha, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Wood and children, Don, Becky, Barry and Todd spent the past weekend and through Labor Day at White Lake. Thomas Mclnnis went with Don Wood to White Lake Friday, when Don took the camping equipment to set it up at the Lake for the coining of the rest of the family Saturday. They camped out that night and Don cooked breakfast for them Saturday a. in. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Kooncc, Capt. and Mrs. Davis Parker and children, Karen and Kirkland III, spent the past weekend at Hoi dens Beach. This was the last chance for a long stay at the beach. Mr. and Mrs. b. B. Newton and children, Cathy and Marshall, Mr. and Mrs. Robert McNeill and children, Susan and Nancy, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Johnson and daughters, Mary Nell and Paula, Mr. and Mrs. Charles llelhling and sons. Chuck and John spent the weekend and Monday at Lake Waccamaw. Mrs. hd Brisson and children, Lida and Jeffrey of St. Pauls joined them on Labor Day. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Fowler, Mrs. Henry Fowler and daughters, Carol and Cathy attended a birthday celebration for Mrs. Herbert Phillips at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Y. R. Shook of Red Springs last Sunday. After attending the wedding of his daughter at Bunn Saturday, Wesley McKcithan of Pittsburgh, Pa. came to spend a few days this week with his mother. Mrs. N. A. McKcithan. Den isc Berry spent the past weekend with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Berry while her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harrison Berry of Faclleville went to the mountains. Mrs. Thomas Lccton left last Friday for Hawaii to meet her husband, 1st Lt. Thomas Lecton from Vietnam. She will return home on Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. B. B. Bostic visited Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Bostic of Magnolia Sunday. Mrs. Aubrey Gaddis reports that they heard from her husband, Sgt. Gaddis of Vietnam Saturday and he was gelling along fine. Mr. and Mrs. Rowland Andrews of Racford were guests of his uncle, A. L. Long and Mrs. Louise Watson Sunday. It's no news now that J. W. Caddcll Jr. of Lumbcrton is visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Caddcll of Racford for he has moved in with them to slay for a while. Mr. and Mrs. Craig Wood of Thomasville visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Wood Saturday and Saturday night. Sunday Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Wood, and Mr. and Mrs. Craig Wood and Miss Lilly Wood were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Willon Wood and family of Racford. Mrs. N. A. McKcilhan, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Shocklcy attended the Sutliff McKeithan wedding at Bunn last Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Willie McKeithan and son, Leon of Fayctteville and other members of the McKeithan family from distant towns also attended the wedding which Mrs. Roy Shocklcy says was very beautiful in the Baptist Church of Bunn. Mrs. Henry Fowler and daughters, Carol and Cathy, and her sister's children, Durwood and Nancy Thornton of Faycttrville spent from Sunday to Wednesday of last week with Mr. and Mrs. David Gibson and Mrs. and Mrs. bupene Gibson and families of Shelby. Mr. and Mrs. David Gibson are grandparents now. They have a granddaughter. Congratulations to them. Mr. and Mrs. Will Monroes granddaughter, Pamela Monroe of Fayettevillc, spent most of last week with them. Mrs. Garnet Kmory of Durham, sister of Mrs. Monroe came Saturday and was here for their Golden Wedding celebration Sunday. She returned home Tuesday. Mike Nugent was at home for the weekend. His mother, Mrs. Floyd Nugent, Mike and Steve spent the past weekend with SMaj. and Mrs. Howard Flanagan of t'astovcr, S. C. Roanld Monroe of Wingatc College, son of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Monroe came homo Saturday and went back Sunday. Mrs. Carlton Carroll of Parklon and Mrs. Leon Carroll of Greensboro were guests of Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Chason Sunday. Their mother, K'is. Frank Kvcrctt of Parklon is a patient at Cape Fear Valley Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Cary I ce Quick moved into the mobile home of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Watson sometime ago and we welcome them to Rockfish. Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Scssoms left last Friday for a visit lo Mr. and Mrs. W ilson Scssoms of Glenburnie, Md. They found Wilson at home after several weeks in the hospital for surgery and he was somewhat improved but not very well. Mr. and Mrs. June Rogers and sons, Keith and Craig and Mrs. Nelia Brock spent from Friday last week to Monday of this week at Kurc Beach. Mr. and Mrs. Smith Mclnnis visited Mr. and Mrs. IX-vid Lancaster of Raleigh Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. barl J. Hare and daughters of Charlotte spent Saturday night and Sunday with her mother, Mrs. A. A. Mclnnis. Ihcy spent Sunday night with Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Webb. Other dinner guests of Mrs. A. A. Mcinnis and Thomas Mclnnis last Sunday were Misses Debbie and Rcba Allrcd of Aberdeen and Mr. and Mrs. James K. Mclnnis of Fayettevillc. Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Decs spent the past weekend at Carolina Beach. Mr. and Mrs. Julian Barnes and children, Jane, Marilyn and Paul spent last Sunday with Mrs. Arch Dees of Aberdeen. Kenneth Barnes spent the past weekend with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George Dees. Mrs. Joe Lovctle, John Parker, and Mrs. Mary Shrewhridge visited Mr. and Mrs. Lester Simpson of Jacksonville Monday and Mrs. Lovcttc stayed for a longer visit with Mr. and Mrs. Simpson and their baby son Lester III. Mrs. Mary Mclnnis and son Thomas were guests of Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Dees at a cook out steak supper Monday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Parsons and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Spears of Fayettevillc visited Mrs. Marshall Newton last Sunday afternoon, alter attending the Golden Wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Will Monroe. Mr. and Mrs. George Decs were supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Libert Decs last Friday night, honoring Mrs. George Dees on her birthday. Whether Mrs. Decs is 2l or .W doesn't matter and everyone wishes for her many more happy birthdays. Teresa McCrancy was elected club reporter at the last Junior 4 II Club meeting and she reports the club news this week. Tummy Arnold of Fayettevillc and Ronald l ong attended the races at Darlington, S. C. Monday. It's still very dry at Rockfish the first of this week and sonic crops arc suffering for lack of rain. Rockfish Junior 4-11 Cluh The Rockfish Junior 411 Cluh met at the community house, August 27, at 7 M) p. m. The meeting was called lo order by the president. Wkv Wood. There were 10 club members present and we lud one visitor, Pamela Monroe. Our leader, Mrs. Allaway . gave a demonstration on "I he Value of Time." Paul Barnes led us in music, and Julia Turner was our recreation leader. Mrs. Omar Register served rcfrcshcmlns, and everyone had a good tune.
