She is scheduled for basic train ing in October in Alabama, and has been accepted to the U.S. Army School of Pharmacy at Ft. Sam Houston, Texas, where she is scheduled to begin training next January. Kearns. 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Matthew Kearns of Raeford, is participating in Operation "Solid Shield '76" as a member of the 2d Battalion. 8th Marine Regiment, - homebased at the Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune. Friedberg, Germany--Ronald Scott, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fulton Scott, Rt. 1, Aberdeen, was promoted on April 21 to Army sergeant while serving with the 3rd Armored Division in Germany. Lions Tournev Termed 'Success' Ashwell Harward, Lions Club representative, termed the Raeford Lions Club Golf Tournament a "success" Monday morning. Harward said there was 146 entries in the tournament and the proceeds would go toward the Lions Club's work in Hoke County. Harward expressed appreciation to the merchants who were very generous while providing help to make the tournament a success. Bobby Luck won the tournament with a 147 score, followed by Don Williamson with a 150 score and Jack Morgan with a 151 total. For the first ten months of the current fiscal year, net General Fund collections were $1.3245 billion compared with $1.2500 billion for the first ten months of the 1974-75 fiscal year, an increase of $74.5 million, or 5.% percent. April met Highway Fund collections amounted to $28.7 million compared with $23.9 million collected in April, 1975, an increase of $4.8 million, or 20.19 percent. Gasoline Tax receipts amounted to S24.4 million compared with $20.6 million collected in April, 1975, an increase of $3.8 million, or 18.31 percent. Net Highway Fund collections for the first ten months of the current fiscal year were $329.3 million as compared with $305.5 million collected during the first, ten months of the 1974-75 fiscal year, an increase of $23.8 million, or 7.82 percent. Gasoline Tax collections for this ten month period were $230.7 million as compared with $220.2 million collected during the corresponding period of the 1974-75 fiscal year, an increase of $10.5 million, or 4.78 percent.
