The Hoke High girls were nosed
out for the Southeastern 4-A
Conference basketball tournament
title 41-38 by Terry Sanford of
Fayetteville in the championship
game on the winners' court Friday
night.
The win sent Terry Sanford into
'he State playoffs. The Terry
Sanford boys won their tournament
also, advancing to the state play
The Sanford girls were ahead
13-6 at the end of the First period,
but then Hoke's girls outscored
them 6-4 and 12-9 in the nert two
quarters, and the score was tied
with less than five minutes to go.

individual scoring with 18 points.

Arm Wrestling Contest
On March 29
Who's got the strongest tfrm in Hoke County? Hoke County Parks and
Recreation Commission will sponsoring an Arm Wrestling Contest to
determine w ho does have the strongest right or left arm! The contest will be
held at the Gibson Gym on Monday. March 29, at 7 p.m.
In order to compete you must till in the registration blank below and
return to the Parks and Recreation office prior to S p.m. on Wednesday,
March 24. The contest will be a double-elimination tourney with the
following weight divisions:

There must be at least tour participants per division before a trophy will
be awarded. The winner in each division will receive a trophy. There is a
