?k. The seniors from N.C. State's
basketball team will be participat
fog in a benefit basketball game for
'*-? the American Cancer Society of
Hoke County.
Heading the team from N.C.
StjUe will be 7*5" Chuck Nevitt and
. 1980 standout Art Jones. Others
- slated to play include Scott
Parly ch, Emmett Lay and Max
. Perry. Harold Thompson, a former
Hoke High standout and currently
a sophomore on the N.C. State
basketball team, will be on hand to
coach the State team but will not
play due to NCAA regulations.
Their opponents will be the Hoke
County All Stars, a team consisting
of former high school and/or
college players. Coaching the All
Star squad will be Stanley Cat
lender. Others slated to play in
clude: George Maynor, George
Drawhorne, Rudolph Maynor,
Marcus Brown, Mike Sutton, Tony
Austin, Bryan Hales and Parnell
Mite.
The game is scheduled for
Tuesday night, April 13, at 7:30 at
the Hoke High gym. Tickets are $3
each and can be purchased in
advance at the following schools
and businesses: Hoke High, Up
church Junior High, Turlington
. Elementary, West Hoke Elemen
' tary, South Hoke Elementary.

cine Shoppe, Hoke Drug. Southern

Last year's game was a sellout, so
if you plan to attend, get your
ticket* early.
A raffle will be held during
halftime at which time, a television
set and 3 red and white basketballs
signed by the N.C. State team will
?be given away. Also during half
time, the State players will be
available to the fans for auto
graphs.
All proceeds from the game will
go to the American Cancer Society
: to help its research to find a cure
for this disease.
