A new group has been organized -called the "Mission Friends" -and is for age 3 years, 4 and 5. The meetings will be held during preaching on the 2nd and 4th Sun days of each month. April meeting of the Woman's Missionary Union was held at the home of Mrs. Mavis Foster in St. Pauls on Thursday night, April 22nd with nine members attending. Miss Pearl Dew presided and led the devotional, Mrs. Flata Schell, President called for any business to g be discussed, led in prayer and turned the program over to Miss Dorothy McGougan. Miss McGougan presented an interesting program on Retirees, Retiring and Volunteering for Mis sion work. Tables were set for twelve, in the dining room, and centered with mixed arrangements of spring flowers. The hostess served ham biscuits, _ cheese straws, pecan pies, salad, ? cookies and hot cider. A Home Interior Party was held Sunday evening at four o'clock with Mrs. Gavle Salak. Mrs. Pamela Lewis, Home Interior Representative, showed the decorations and explained how they could be used separately or in a group. The hostess was presented a red silk rose, for having the party - and $ a beautiful silk flower arrangement of red roses, white phlox and stephanotis. Mrs. Marion Sumner and Mrs. Ruth Tolar also received Red roses for parties. The door prize was won by Mrs. Billy Sue Wooley. Present were Jean Thompson, Ruth Rolar, Lois Sumner, Mavis Foster, Billy Sue Wooley, Debbie Chason, Marion Sumner, Pat Grey, Lib Sumner, Mary Am- g mons, Lesa Salak of Hope Mills, * Marion J. Sumner, Selina Sumner and Janice Webster of Fayetteville. Hough of 1 Charlotte spent Tuesday and Thursday night with her sister, Mrs. Ruth Tolar. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bullard returned home Thursday night after a ten day visit with their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. John Meaney and children, John Paul and infant son, Thomas Michael in Mahuah, N.J. Miss Monica Tyner underwent surgery last Thursday in Cape Fear f Valley Hospital. During the soft ball tournament in Greensboro, she received a broken bone underneath the eye. Mrs. Bertha C. Hardesty has been a patient in Cape Fear Valley Hospital since April 16th due to an auto accident. Her daughter, Mrs. JoAnn John was also hurt, but was not hospitalized. Mrs. Sylvia Lichen, mother of % Mrs. Georgia Beck, has been a pa tient in Cape Fear Hospital for two weeks and underwent surgery last Tuesday. Mrs. Jessie Blue Longworth of Richmond, Va. arrived Sunday to be with her mother, Mrs. Bertha Hardesty. Mrs. Ella Carr of Raeford spent Monday evening with her neice, Mrs. Pamela Lewis. Mr. and Mrs. Colon J. Ammons f visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kemp Watts in Clarkton# Sunday afternoon. The Ladies Auxiliary will meet at the Town Hall, Tuesday night, May 4th, at 7:30.
