Hoke Trackmen Second In 3-way Meet The Hoke High boys track team placed second in a triangular meet against E.E. Smith and Scotland. The scores were Smith 82, Hoke SO, and Scotland 41. Darrell Cromartie led the Bucks, placing First in the discus with a throw of 132 feet 11 inches and first in the shot put with a throw of 47 feet. Paul Hunt won the 3, 200-meter run and placed second in the 1, 600-meter run. He has won the 3,200 in every meet this season ex cept in the Queen City Relays. The summaries: Raeford Girl Wins 4 Track Events Raeford's own lcesonnia Horsley captured four wins in the TAC North Carolina Youth Con ference Track and Field Competi tions. The meet was hosted by the Charlotte Striders Track Club and held at the Myers Park Stadium, Charlotte, on April 24. lcesonnia placed first in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.01 seconds, first in the long jump with a jump of 4.75 meters and first in the 400-meter dash with a time of 63.19 seconds, and she ran anchor leg for a 4 x 100 relay team which placed second with a time of 53.6 seconds. Special Olympics Set The annual Hoke County Special Olympics for 1982 will be held May 13, starting at 9 a.m., in the Hoke High stadium. The county's exceptional children will compete in track and field and some special events for medals and the fun of it. "The lids will be removed from the jars and about 200 butterflies will be able to fly free and show their beauty" the announcement says, referring to the boys and girls in the classes for the handicapped.
