June 13 at 3:00 p.m. at the Center Grove Church. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Edens of Shan non. She is a graduate of Hoke High School. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arron Douglas of Fav etteville and is a graduate of Seventy First High School and I Fayetteville Technical Institute. The Rev. T. McDonald offi ciated the double ring ceremony. Mrs. Alice Greene presented a program of organ music. Michael Ross. Cynthia Quick and Gary Love sang ''Endless Love" and "The Lord's Prayer". The church was decorated with two arrangements of white gladio lus and chrysanthemums in white | and blue foliage baskets. Cande labra and the kneeling bench were used to adorn the front of the church. Given in marriage by her father the bride wore a Queen-Anne neckline gown accented with chan tilly lace, long chantilly lace bishop sleeves, and empire waist with full A-line skirt. Layers of chantilly lace was attached to a chapel length train. The bride chose a walking length veil with a rhinestone crown edged with seed pearls. She carried a colonial bouquet of mixed silk peonies and gvpsophila with matching laced stremers. Vermain Edens served as maid of honor. She was attired in a long floral gown of blue and white and carried blue and white flowers on a lace Ian with streamers. The bridesmaids were attired like the honor attendant and carried laced fans with silk pink and blue peonies over gvpsophila with matching laced streamers and hair pieces. They were Sharon Edens. Vanessa Farmer. Evelyn Shaw. V'al Davis and Nancy Me Phaul. Mr. Curtis Edens served as best man for the groom. Ushers were Earl Gilchrist. Billy Petcrkin. Clarence Edens. Jr.. Jessie Edens and Vertis I homas. Children attendants in the wed ding were Michelle Davis and Mclinda Godwin, both serving as flower girls. They wore similar dresses as the bridesmaids. President of the Terpsichorean Club of Raleigh, announced today that invitations have been issued to the Fifty-sixth Annual North Carolina Debutante Ball. The event will be held here on September 9th, 10th and 11th. 1982. The formal pre sentation to North Carolina Society of young ladies from across the state will highlight the weekend festivities. The Terpsochorean Club, com prised of young gentlemen from the Raleigh area, was formed to spon sor an annual statewide Debutante Ball for the presentation of North Carolina's socially prominent young ladies and to honor the first families of the state. It has been given every year since 1923 with the exception of the World War II years. The young ladies, who will be presented by their fathers, were selected by over 100 nominators located throughout the state. Final approval of the Debutantes is made by Terpsichorean Club members. The young ladies are chosen based on the family's contribution to the community, their background, social prominence, and the girls' civic, scholastic, and social ac tivities. The Leader of the Ball is chosen from Wake County's Debu tantes. and fourteen girls from throughout the state are also honored by being named Assistant Leaders.
