<2<MULoil Mrs. Steve Phillips, Social Reporter, 87S-4171 Miss Coker, Mr. Smith Married In Double Ring Ceremony Jf Wfiss Rebecca Lynn Coker and fSissell Charles Smith, both of Rjteford were married Sunday, 27th at 3 p.m. in the Raeford Pfesbyterian Church. Dr. John Ropp officiated for the double ring ceremony. ?The bride is the daughter of Mr. a ad Mrs. Walter Richard Coker of Raeford. ^The bridegroom is the son of Mr. tjV Dees Smith of Wilson and the Mrs. Smith. ?A program of wedding music was pifesented by Mrs. Steve McNeill of Raeford and soloist, Mrs. Alan Johnson of Wilson. .An arrangement of mixed sum mer flowers was used on the com munion table. The altar was flunked with candle trees and candelabra holding lighted tapers greenery. Arrangements of Mpnery completed the decora tions. fThe bride, given in marriage by h$r father, wore a formal gown of ivory chiffon with a scalloped neckline and short sleeves accented wfth Alencon lace and crystal pteating. The bodice was re eipbroidered Alencon lace and seed pearls. The A-lined skirt was accented with matching lace and crystal pleating extending into a <J|Mpel length train. She wore a ti^er-tip mantilla of illusion edged with Alencon lace and seed pearls. She carried a cascade bouquet of sifk roses, miniature rubrum lillies and for-getme-nots. Sara Mitchell Coker, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a floral print gown of ivory silk organza over taffeta. The fitted bodice featured a scooped neckline axd puffed sleeves. A border print ?Bircled the hemline of the softly gathered skirt. Her bouquet was a cascade of mixed silk flowers in shades of rose and ivory. Bridesmaids, whose gowns and bouquets were identical to that of the honor attendants, were Vicky Hunt, sister of the groom, of Elberton, Georgia, Martha Ann Brown of Raeford, Hope MacMil lan of Greenville, and Dawn Hines of Rocky Mount. ??oy Smith served as his son's best man. Groomsmen were Brad Hunt of Eberton, Georgia, Craig Smith of Greenville, Mitch Barnes of Winston-Salem, and Graves Gayton of Norcross. Georgia. The mother of the bride chose a floor length gown of Ambergine chiffon trimmed with matching lace. She wore a corsage of Peruvian lillies. flMrs. Jesse Gulledge, maternal grandmother of the bride, was attired in a gown of mauve chiffon and Quiana. Her corsage was of pink silk roses. Mrs. Sallie Lanier, paternal grandmother of the groom, wore a blue suit with a white lace blouse. Her corsage was of white silk roses. After a wedding trip to the Virgin Islands, the couple will be at home in Raeford. ^jHie bride is a graduate of East cRolina University with a degree io School and Community Health. * The bridegroom is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Education. He is employed by the Hoke County Board of Education. Tables were covered with red and Luncheon Honors Miss Hottel, Miss Jones Mrs. Irvin Hubbard entertained at a luncheon honoring Misses Joy Hottel and Barbara Ann Jones at her home on Saturday. June 12. An arrangement of white silk daisies centered the dining table where a three-course meal was served. The hostess remembered the brides-elect with daisy corsages and gifts of china in their chosen patterns. Mrs. Riley Honor Guest At Shower On Thursday. June 24, Jennifer Manning. Mrs. Evelyn Manning and Mrs. Louise Sessoms hosted a floating bridal shower for Susan Cook Riley, recent bride of Ricky Riley. The bride and groom were married on May 1. The bride was presented a corsage of yellow and white daisies with calico ribbon. The table was decorated with a beige tablecloth, candles and a centerpiece of yellow, orange and beige silk flowers. Guests were served cake squares, cucumber finger sandwiches, nuts, mints and lemonade. The hostesses presented the bride with gifts of sheets and bathroom accessories. She received many other nice gifts from the guests. white checkered cloths. A basket holding a dried arrangement was placed on the bride and grooms table. Later in the evening the arrangement was given to the bridal couple. The wedding party and out-of town guests enjoyed a steak dinner. The bride and groom remem bered their attendants with gifts at this time. BRIDESMAIDS' LUNCHEON The bridesmaids' luncheon was held June 26th at 1 p.m. at the home of Mrs. John Walker. Host esses were. Mrs. Jack Tucker, Mrs. Eddie Ramsey. Mrs. Wyatt Up church. Mrs. Benny McLeod and Mrs. Bobby McNeill. Upon arrival Miss Coker was presented a corsage of pink roses. Places were laid in the dining room for seventeen. A three course meal was served to the guests. The bride was remembered with gifts of china by the hostesses. Ashley 875-4087 Jones-Richardson Couple Wed In Methodist Church Here Miss Barbara Ann Jones and Jonathan Banks Richardson ex changed wedding vows Sunday, June 27, at 4:30 p.m. in the Raeford United Methodist Church. The Reverend Arthur Winstead performed the double-ring cere mony. The bride is the daughter of Roy W. Jones and the late Irma Dalrymple Jones and the grand daughter of Mrs. Thomas Clarence Jones of Raeford. The bride groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Decatur Richardson of Southern Pines. The church altar was centered with an arrangement of mixed flowers. Within the chancel, four colonial seven -branched candela bra and Boston ferns completed the decor. Mrs. Betty Upchurch, organist, a"d soloists. Miss Rosie Frisby and William Daniels presented a pro gram of wedding music. Vocal selections included "The Wedding jjSong," "The Song of Ruth" and "The Lord's Prayer". Escorted by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of white silkened organza and Chantilly lace over peau de soie fashioned with a fitted bodice, sheer yoke of English net and colonial neckline appliqued with lace and pearls. Traditional bridal buttons closed the back and full Bishop sleeves appliqued at the shoulder ended with a deep lace cuff enhanced with pearls. The A-lined skirt featured scattered appliques of lace and pearls with a crystal pleated ruffle over-laid with a border of lace continuing around the chapel-length train forming an apron -effect up the back to the waist line with appliques of lace cascading down the back. Her two-tiered finger-tip veil of silkened bridal illusion with a rolled edge was adorned with appliques of lace and pearls was attached to a lace-covered Juliet cap enhanced with bridal pearls. She carried a cascade of silk rosebuds, orchids, and Lily of the Valley. Miss Paula Johnson of Albe marle and Mrs. Judy Jones of Charlotte, sister-in-law of the bride, served as maid and matron of honor respectively. They wore full-length suede rose sheer dresses with double ruffle off the shoulder style with a flounced hem and bustle-back. They carried natural wicker baskets filled with silk flowers consisting of carnations, roses, sweet pea and babies' breath. Bridesmaids, wearing gowns identical to the honor attendants and carrying similar bouquets were. Misses Susan Townsend and Cathy Monroe, both of Raeford. Miss Kim Meacham of Chapel Hill, and Mrs. Wanda Crenshaw of Southern Pines. Mr. Richardson served as his son's best man. Ushers were Dale Jones, brother of the bride, of Charlotte; Clement Richardson, uncle of the groom, of Greensboro; Marty Evans of Aberdeen; Randv Frahm and Ricky Clark of Rae ford. Mrs. Jones, grandmother of the bride, chose for the wedding a formal gown of French blue geor gette featuring a round gathered neckline, long shirred sleeves with a waistline enhanced by a double ruffle. The groom's mother wore a deep pink floor length gown with fitted bodice and long sleeves of organza which featured a pleated overskirt falling from a raised waistline. The neckline and bodice front were trimmed with applique. Each wore a white orchid corsage. Mrs. Roy Jones, step-mother of the bride, wore a floor length dress of champagne lace trimmed with satin featuring an empire waistline. Mrs. Dwight Richardson, grand mother of the bridegroom, wore a street length dress of aqua crepe. The jewel neckline was trimmed with a small ruffle. Each wore a white carnation corsage. After a wedding trip to Florida. Mr. and Mrs. Richardson will make their home in Southern Pines. The bride is a graduate of Hoke County High School and the School of Pharmacy of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is employed by Eckerd Drugs. Mr. Richardson is a graduate of Pine crest High School and is employed by Stanley Furniture Company in West End. REHF.ARSAL DINNER Mr. and Mrs. Decatur Richard son. parents of the bridegroom, hosted a rehearsal dinner Saturday evening at The Peddler Steak House in Southern Pines for mem bers of the wedding party and out of town guests. BRIDESMAIDS' LUNCHEON Mrs. Dale Jones, sister-in-law of the bride, entertained at a luncheon on Saturday at The Manor Inn in Pinehurst. The bride presented gifts to her attendants at this time. PRE-NUPTIAL PARTIES A miscellaneous bridal shower was given on June 17 in honor of Miss Jones at the home of Mrs. Harold Brady with Mrs. Paul Livingston, as co-hostess. A corsage of rosebuds was presented to the bride-elect upon her arrival, and a gift of china in her chosen pattern was later pre sented. Mixed summer flowers were used to decorate the dining area. ? ? * On Saturday evening, June 12, Mr. and Mrs. Wilton Wood and Miss Beth Wood hosted a cookout in honor of Miss Jones and Mr. Richardson. I'pon arrival, the honoree was presented a corsage of yellow miniature daisies. Hors d'oeuvres were served from the den and were then invited onto the patio where individual tables covered with checked cloths were set for eighteen. Small straw baskets of dried summer flowers centered each table. Guests enjoyed barbequed chicken with all the trimmings and homemade ice cream. The host and hostesses presented the honored couple with an ice cream free/er. Austin and Mrs. Neil Senter were hostesses for a Coke party at the Senter home in honor of brides-elect Barbara Ann Jones, Joy Hottel, and Susan Bounds, on Saturday morning, June 19. Guests were greeted in the living room and den and were invited into the dining room for refreshments of Coke, ham biscuits, brownies, date swirls, nuts and sesame sticks. Greenery and magnolias decorated the den and roses and lilies enhanced the living room and dining table. The dining table was covered with a cross-stitched table cloth.
