f Faberge Ladies' Benefit l Golf Tourney Set The annual Faberge Ladies Golf Classic to benefit Camp Easter-in the-Pines will be held at Mid Pines Resort, Southern Pines, July 30 through August 1 . A practice round will be held on Friday, with Saturday and Sunday being reserved for the tournament. The entry fee is $50 per person and includes green fees for the weekend and a golf cart for the tournament. Registration for the Classic will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 30. Camp Easter-in-the-Pines is a program facility of the Easter Seal Society, providing camping and leisure services for physically and multiply handicapped North Carolinians. Horsley Wins Medals On Friday and Saturday, Ice sonnia Horsley competed in the AAU/USA Junior Olympic South eastern Region III Track & Field Championships. The meet was held at the Brook Mountain Stadium in Birming ham, Ala. The top three from six states competed in the meet (three from each state). Miss Horsley won four bronze medals in the competitions. She competed in the long jump, the Liniment League AME Zion won the regular season championship and Presby terian won the tournament in the Liniment League. The scores: July 16: A.M.E. He defeated Koh McNeill, 21 -lb. in the finals. He is holding his championship trophy. Chau also won the Hoke High chemistry medal the /uist school year and is an Honor Roll student with an average of 97 percent in his studies. He is the son of Mrs. Cue Tran. Their home is at 502 W. Because of very stormy weather conditions on Friday afternoon all competi tions were rescheduled for Satur day, including simi-trials, trials and finals. This caused athletes competing in more than one event to compete under very stressful conditions. On July 9-10, Miss Horsley competed in the TAC/USA Junior Olympic Region III Track & Field Championships which were held at South Carolina State University, Columbia. The top three athletes from five Southeastern states en tered the competitions (three from each state). Miss Horsley won a silver medal in the 100-meter dash and a bronze medal in the long-jump competi tions. On August 10-11, she will enter competitions in the MacDonald Invitational Meet which will be held in Greensboro with the Greensboro Pacers Track Club serving as host. Icesonnia's awards for the 'year so tar include 27 first place ribbons (blue), 6 second-place ribbons. 1 third place-ribbon. 5 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 5 bronze medals.
